Express pie "20 minutes" - faster only to buy ready-made (time-tested quick recipe)

  • A pie in the oven made from quick dough without yeast is a godsend for a busy housewife: with a raw filling, the pie-making process will be even faster, and you'll be able to finish everything before unexpected guests arrive! You can feed a large family with a delicious thin-crust pie and even treat your neighbors! For example: a pie with chicken and potatoes, commonly known as Kurnik (usually made with shortcrust pastry + raw potatoes, onions, and chicken in the filling) will be juicy and hearty by default, and you won’t waste extra time on pre-cooking the filling (chop everything while the dough develops gluten for 15 minutes!). And while chatting with guests, the juicy pie will be ready for serving! Dough on kefir without yeast is instantly mixed, but be sure to add sour cream and some fat; this way, your pie dough will always remain soft, tasty, and pleasant to work with from the start. You can't always get good dough using only kefir, and it's not the recipe's fault, but rather because store-bought kefir nowadays is more like milk, which is why I always recommend using either fully 10-15% sour cream instead of kefir or at least half mixed with store-bought kefir. And if you find real thick kefir, then use that alone, and the dough will turn out great. Another big plus is that you can make the pie dough from leftovers found in any housewife's refrigerator!

    Onion - 270 g = 3 pcs.
    Potatoes - 800 g = 5 pcs.
    Salt, pepper - to taste
    Butter - 50 g = 2.5 - 3 tbsp.

    Sour cream 15% - 150 g = ¾ cup
    Egg - 48 g = 1 pc.

    Sugar - 10 g = 2 tsp.
    Salt - 9 g = 1 tsp.
    Flour - 500 g (+/-) = approximately 4 cups*
    Vegetable oil - 70 g = 7.5 tbsp
