I'm so glad that Bruce and Rick were able to continue to keep The Jam music alive and they were able to make a living. It's obvious from the crowd they really love this. Weller may have written the songs but Bruce and Rick's playing was critical to the sound of The Jam.
I got here from Weller's 'Eton Rifles' and by comparison, these guys blows away Weller and his session band mates. As you can see here, FTJ captures the spirit of the song as it was intended: raw, unpolished, un-compromising, perfected by the power 3 piece arraignment. Don't know the new lead singer's name, but he is definitely worthy of carrying the standard. Keep rocking on, FTJ.
Russ Hastings is the lead, he's a massive Jam fan, living the dream! Rick has said that the physicality of drumming Jam songs meant he couldn't continue to tour at the rate FTJ do! We love them!
The band with Weller was great. But Russell's performances brought a freshness to these songs that we love. I find this perfect DVD and I think the own Weller has enjoyed this work.
Had the great pleasure of djing on stage at GY auditorium when they played there, what a fantastic night and got to meet both Bruce and Rick backstage with my son, very memorable night.
How good is that ... Russell Hastings has really put his mark on this . Sounds amazing sung how it is supposed to be sung . Please please get Rick back
It's a shame Rick Buckler isn't still with them, he's a superb drummer, I've seen From The Jam a few times now and they just get better, come back Rick
I totaly agree with u david watts. Ive seen from the jam loads of times , always a great gig, but having rick back behind the drums wud cement the nostalgic brilliance again. There will never ever be another weller, but russell hastings does a sterling job.
Looking forward to York, been following these guys for years - sad that Rick isn't with them but the sound is still great! Saw a couple of the Meeting and Greets that Rick did, again a great night! Well recommended all round
I can't help but think this would have been better without the keyboards.......which sounds like something played discreetly in a lift or a hotel lobby.
I heard one of the Jam , I think it was Foxton , on Radio3 talking about how gutted the band were when Geller decided to quit. They's just don a load of prep work for a tour then he landed that on them. Apparently, it came out of the blue.
True Colin But at Least these lads Changed their Famous Moniker and Russell Hastings does a Great Paul Weller Unlike the So called Stranglers with Just Burnel and Greenfield left still calling themselves The Stranglers? A Joke.
2out 3 isn't bad but can we imagine if it was 3 out of 3 the eighties and late seventies and John Weller's immortal words the greatest band in the fucking world

As much as we all loved The Jam this isn't The Jam, Bruce bless him is making a living and fair play to him but that desperate Weller wannabe is tragic! A tribute act watched by 50 year old teenagers with beer guts and terrible haircuts.

Undoubtedly so!🇬🇧
Energy? Yes. Passion? Yes. Nostalgia? Yes!!! Nothing wrong with nostalgia - especially when it's represented this well
From The Jam are a great live gig.
You won't be disappointed.
FOXTON IS MAKING SURE THAT THE LEGACY OF THE JAM WILL BE PRESERVED
Jam is a preserve, so he's definitely doing the right thing.
I am sorry but i have to admit that i rather go to a From The Jam concert than to a Weller´s one. They sound fu.... GREAT!
Wow great songs Russell is awesome hate Weller's solo shit what s wanker
Agreed
You’re in a minority
@@Barry4B i don't care

Bruce’s bass playings insane

40 years ago, i didnt realise how good Foxton was, same goes for rick buckler. those guys are quality musicians
It's good to see Buckler and Foxton back at it. Weller did them dirty, imo
They would do VERY well coming to the states.
Bruce just says let's go we got it on brilliant
Very good that, I'll be going to see them
True, its a dream mixed with nostalgia ....
Cant wait to see them on Thursday
I liked the end bit!!
I don't like Weller, but I have to say he wrote this song and therefore is allowing this line up to perform it.
The publishing and record company would say yes or no. Weller wrote it but beleive me... he has no say
went to 40 anniversary in Brighton know Bruce was unwell but least Big country saved the day
Fuck that sounds perfect

Nostalgia? Perhaps, but this song has never been so pertinent.
Is the same energy ... or better?

Yes spot on mate they are just a tribute band
We know it's not. We wish it were but this is as close as it gets and it's fkn great!
there's no paul weller...who are their?
This is *From The Jam.* Two of the original members of The Jam (Rick Buckler and Bruce Foxton) with a new lead singer/lead guitarist.
👍👍

Gertcha you can't!
Made in Great Britain
No pleases stop now no edge no passion it's shit without the man who actually wrote the song and all of the music
If you compare this with Weller's current solo versions, this has far more energy and ferocity.
@@RebeccaTurner-ny1xx yes but he’s not pretending to be another band that split up 41 yrs ago

Foxton and Buckler are original to the band.
