WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

So basically he is saying "I hear what you're saying, but Im not actually listening or understanding."
If religious people actually listened to all of the logical objections to their beliefs, they would no longer want to be religious. But instead, they close their eyes, cover their ears, and persist with their beliefs. They willfully ignore the irrationality of their religious beliefs.
No, I think this is a rare case of someone genuinely listening, he's just failing to understand a crucial distinction in terminology. I think Matt was a little off his game here, unfortunately, because this could have gone somewhere interesting instead of in circles if he picked that up and corrected that.

RR made only 1 video regarding why transwomen competing against women sports is unfair to women. That was it. I am really disappointed at them. It says there it was an ACA board statement. Why has nobody asked Stephen if he is okay with XX athletes competing in XY sports? Just because Stephen, I or anyone else want XX athletes to not have to compete against XY athletes, doesn't mean we are not okay with XX athletes competing in XY sports. It's not 'transphobia' to want XX athletes to have a level playing field. If all the XX athletes agreed with XY athletes competing against them, then I'm okay with that too! I suspect Stephen would be as well. Unfortunately, the athletes didn't have a say in the decision.

Many people have reported floating above their bodies during a near death experience, and were able to recall details they couldn't have known unless consciousness was somehow separate from our minds. The host stated as a fact, that when you die consciousness goes away. He is making this statement, obviously ignoring actual evidence. What else are they getting wrong?

He hung around for 13.5 billion years (or 6,000 years, it's all the same to Him) and thought:
"I know how to fix this. I'll send myself down to Earth to be tortured and executed as a sacrifice to myself to calm myself down so I can forgive the people who murdered me".
And that's why I believe in God.
I do realise He could have just miracled up a celestial blowjob which would probably have produced a similar relaxation, but, you know, God works in mysterious ways....

The ACA needs to apologise for the slanderous and untrue attacks on Rationality Rules they were too cowardly to say to his face or discuss rationally with him, before he left the USA.
Len hazell what attacks did the ACA undertake on RR? Did it have something to do with the video he made on transgendered athletes.
Damon Coleman yes, they claimed he was transphobic due to some bad arguments and such. They threw him under the bus without much consideration and just denounced him.

Albert Wesker no, his arguments were actually good. Why the fuck should trans women be allowed to compete in female sports ? Just because you identify as a woman, which stems from ONLY the brain, doesn’t mean you don’t have male physiological attributes that enhance your performance.
Since the ACA has formally denounced Rationality Rules, are these videos with him going to be removed, or...
I too want to say that I support Rationality Rules, and look forward to an apology to him from the ACA.
All you have to do is read the description of all these videos to see that the ACA and AXP are not synonymous. They are two different bodies. Most members of the AXP don't agree with the action that the ACA took. Please don't stir a shit storm on this channel, dude. Just let them address it as and when they wish to. Matt has already done this by leaving a comment in support of our boy Steve on his video.

Hank Harrison he made a few comments regarding transgenderism that some found questionable, but instead of correcting him or debating him, which they pride themselves in doing, they called him transphobic and cut ties with him.

Unsubscribing until the ACA issues a full apology to Stephen, and I suggest everyone else do the same. I know not everyone at the ACA agrees with the board’s opinion, but the board was out of line for attacking Stephen’s character in their wildly mischaracterizing statement. I will not watch another ACA video unless it’s titled: “We apologize to RR.”
Edit: for clarification, my last sentence is not directed at AXP specifically. It's directed at all of the ACA organization's content because the official voice of the ACA (the board) issued the statement. I understand not all at AXP agreed with the board, and the AXP is not responsible for the board's mistakes. Nevertheless, AXP falls under ACA content.

Anthony Norman Matt Dillahunty is my hero along with Tracie Harris but he wasn’t the one that shamefully threw RR under the bus. After reviewed the video in question, I did not find anything that remotely indicated that RR is a transphobic.
The board of ACA needs to retract the no evidence based, character assassination of RR & issue a public apology. Until that happened, I don’t want anything to do with them.

@demigodzilla This has all got ridiculously out of hand. I agree with what you say, but let's wait for his video (hopefully) correcting all the mistake he made. The ACA's, as I'm sure you know, was apologizing for the fact that they did not address the concerns in the interview and await his clarification on his beliefs. They in no way demonised him. And for Woodford to compare himself with Galileo is also ridiculous and does him no favours.

Also, being an ostracized group doesnt mean you can get away with doing whatever they want. If a trans person kills an entire family, should they not be held accountable just because they're part of an "ostracized group"?

But the question is, should they be allowed to complete against actual women, even if they are in the process of changing their gender. What is your answer to this question. I am not transphobic by no means, but instead of going off topic and off your head by calling everyone that has an opinion on this subject, please answer the question. Should they compete against natural born women if they were born male, and if so why. Personally, I think it's unfair to natural born women.

It irks me that so many dishonest callers try to use a script and get upset when the answers they get don't fit into the paths mapped. They either get confused and angry, or they keep trying to assume one of their pre-planned answers is what they said.

ACA - Atheist community of Austin
RR - RationalityRules aka Stephen (the guy on the left)
- RR did a shitty video about the topic of transgender in sports
- People reacted towards that video
- RR accepted the video had a bad argument in it and promised to fix it.
- Some people on the ACA jumped the gun and denounced him.
- People reacted towards that comment.
- Some people on the ACA (i dont know if they were the same people or others) apologized for that comment.
- RR finally released the video with an actual good argument on the topic and donated all the money he got from the former one to charity.
As consequence of the clusterfuck the ACA was fractured and many people left, the atheist comunity was fractured (and im not aware if that has been fixed), and RR and some of his friends had to deal with harrasment from certain people that shall not be named.
At the end there were no winners, but personally i think it was something that was bound to happen (someone making a mistake and some extremists hiding under atheism capitalizating it)

Fred Phelps was transphobic. Pat Robertson is transphobic. Jerry Falwell jr. is transphobic. To call Stephen Woodford transphobic, is disgusting, and appalling, and it appears that the vast majority of the LGBTQ community in the comment section, agrees with me. I will accept nothing less than a complete retraction, and a profuse apology if the AXP wants me to continue subscribing.

I was shocked to find out that the ACA have denounced Stephen as transphobic with no evidence. Given that they expect to see evidence of God before they will believe in God but condemn Stephen without evidence makes them hypocrites. I have therefore unsubscribed in disgust.

Austin resident, 20+ year watcher of the show. Thanks for all the great hours of content, but this is where we must part ways. Social Justice has ruined the rational skeptic community and now the ACA is no exception. This has been going on for at least a few years now, but my fear is that ACA will just double down, that seems to be how it goes. But I truly hope they take some time to see why they are getting this reaction.

I share Steve's mentality-This isn't a matter of belief, but approval. Even if christianity was true (doesn't matter which interpretation), I don't agree with (my biblical understanding of) god, therefore, I would reject god. The question is, why do you christians, and more importantly-Why do you want us to?
As for god not being proven to exist, god isn't here. You christians are here, and are the ones causing the trouble, which makes believing christianity the truth AND accepting it, all that more difficult.

Evidence to me means that it can be verified by a third party, so no personal revelations, and no testimonies allowed.

No one has ever been able to construct a logically sound or cogent argument for the existence of God because God is an assumption, it's never been detected or demonstrated to exist. Therefore any premises you argue will also be assumptions. Assuming the element, a logical fallacy.
Neither the premises or the conclusion will be based on objectively verifiable data and as such the conclusion cannot be literally true.
If you don't know what the difference is between valid, sound, and cogent argumentation as it pertains to logic I can explain it if you want.

It's difficult to support such an unintelligible board of directors making unsubstantiated claims and publicly shaming someone who clearly was in support of what the claims are opposing.
