I used one of these back when I was a kid in the 80''s. I really liked the video right up to the point you started painting. This is a food machine. You wouldn't spray paint a cast iron skillet. These were treated similarly. Steel wool the rust and add some vegetable oil when needed.

I see you put a wing it on the wood handle. How do you take that handle off, and can you remove it and reinstall it so it’s original?
It was originally set on a smooth bolt and then riveted. I had to grind down the original end to be able to get the handle off.
