That's my friend we train at Carlson Gracie team Houston Texas. And it's an honor to share the mats with a legend win or loose in my eyes! Mighty mouse is amazing!!!!
🙏
Brad gotta bulk up to 360 now
😅
Nice breakdown, thanks for the details
My pleasure 🙏
This is what happens when you are outclassed on a technical level. I have a firm belief that sweeps and subs can be done on a similarly skilled opponent if you use enough brute force, but if someone is on a technical level above yours and able to avoid bad spots instead of defending, that weight quickly becomes almost useless.
Great breakdown! Thanks!
You're welcome! 🙏 Glad you enjoyed it.
Great breakdown and analysis!
Thanks!
Phenomenal break down! Thank you Jordan!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Super excited to watch this!!
I hope you liked it!
Can we get an instructional on how to hit that bow and arrow choke from turtle? Pretty please?
I'll get it done, if even just as a vertical video 👊
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsudo it
Proper showcase that THIS is what bjj was invented for - using technicality to prevail over bigger, stronger opponents! 👌🏻✨
That's a myth
@@aznravenflame how so?
@@aznravenflameYou literally watched this video and called it a myth 😂
Coz its not small bjj guy beats big guy with bjj. Its super experienced lifetime professional fighter in a (comparatively) make believe fight. Literal childs play. Think about the adrenaline going through big guy vs MM
@@foolishyishHe might be a bit bigger than what he could beat in a real fight. But we all know Mighty Mouse can beat people twice his size.
I am a short guy like DJ, and this has inspired me to return to the mat. I have a lot of commitments that are preventing me from training, but after seeing this performance, I now have a new reason to train regularly.
I just came back from training, was pissed all week long and now I'm in such a good mood, it clears your mind ;)
Go for it man! Let me know how it was to go back to training 🙂
That was a beautiful Barzegar at 3:36. Classic set up with running the pipe first
👊 Super thanks!
Love your comentaries
Thanks Tristan! I appreciate it 👊
Hey Jordan, 8 month practicing and 55 year old white belt here so hopefully it isn't a dumb question. You once had a short for defending a bow & arrow choke which was to keep the elbow in front. How would that work in the type that Demetrius performed?
That bow and arrow was beautiful
100% 🙏
I really think the status of the man standing across from him psyched him out
He wasn't leveraging his size
I agree 100%. He respected Mighty Mouse too much
At the end of the day, if he brute forced a win and hurt DJ, the internet would have roasted him. Lose Lose situation.
Several times I thought he should have been strong enough to just stand up lol. I don't think it was out of reverence to DJ though. He just looked tired to me if anything.
I love how respectful Mighty Mouse is with everyone he meets.
Ya would love to roll with him one day for sure!
Goated Bjj youtuber
Thanks! 🙏
GREATEST MARTIAL ARTIST ALIVE TODAY
🙏
can you make a video about standing grip fighting. Everytime i gripfight standing it feels like i cant keep my grip for a single second before they break them...
Ya a video about gripfighting is a must. Especially as it pertains to standup. I'll get it done 🙂
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Love it!
Not the only fans gi. Lolol😢
I'm a lightweight and love to see these classic little guy beats big guy matches. As a small counterpoint my professor brought up a good point today, Mighty Mouse is a professional athlete whose job is to train. The guy he beat probably has a day job and is just a hobbyist who trains 3-5x a week for 1-2 hours a pop. It's still great to see the little guy win but it's not like he beat John Jones or some other professional heavyweight.
Yeah but the sheer size difference definitely works to even out that professional advantage. A 100lbs weight difference is no joke and he is also a brown belt so the technical knowledge shouldn't be that far removed for the bigger guy. This is definitely an incredible feat!
DJ is probably lowkey a black belt
Definitely is blackbelt level
Just a bit.
Demetrius works out at my UFC Fit gym! 🤩
Awesome!

I want to spend more time on the mats, but the problem is nobody around me runs classes when I’m off of work. so I’m paying three different memberships to roll at three different gyms One day during the week. Thursday 8 am 10th planet affiliate, Saturday 8am at Gracie Baja affiliate, Sunday night 7pm at Fabio Santos affiliate. Occasionally, I’ll do a double on one of the weekends driving an hour for an open mat. Not sure why I’m doing it either Other than the thought of getting my knees Fd up🤣
Now that's what I call dedication. Well done, man. Just take care of your knees lol 🙂
Big guy likely gets by on size and strength instead of technical prowess. He broke almost every BJJ axiom in this one short round. I’ve been there but am not not so big + a lot older and would be toast if I hadn’t spent time correcting bad habits I built as a person with a size and strength advantage!
Big guy won his own division so he's probably okay at bjj lol
@@benmillan3258 ha, yeah good point. I’m not sure I’d know what to do with an OPP that much smaller than myself - it’d be like rolling with a super squirrelly kid!
@@benmillan3258he's an ultra who outweighed everyone else
How often do you lose a match/roll ONLY because the guy was bigger ? Very rarely. Because being bigger doesn't cut it. Being bigger with a similar amount of skill is when it's a problem. Bigger guys with significantly less skill still get rekt. So again, he's probably okay at bjj lol
👍🏻💪🏻🔥

Why the hell does DJ have a Gi with onlyfans advertising???
Because ¥€¢$¥€$$¥€
Was wondering the same thing. Honestly disappointed to see him represent such a organization...
Imagine Jordan is the next one promoting OnlyFans in his videos!😆
If he was same size as him hed of probably done worse. Its hard fighting small fast guys 😂
Bro’s Ghi is sponsored by only fans 💀
😅
Pathetic degeneracy.
Is that the big opponent the worst brown belt in his weight class?
No, he's fighting dj because he won.
@@jellophant9716 is there a full video on all the fights of that tournament?
@@jblizzard962 it's on his channel, dj won his weight division and the qualifiers from other divisions get to do open weight so he said "why not" and wrestled a bunch of huge guys in a row. Eventually lost.
Amazing! after watching this, I honestly think bjj should do away with guard. or at least penalize it. Bring catch wrestling ruleset back. Guard is only useful if you compete in your weight class or lower. In mma and absolute divisions, you'll either get punched/slammed(mma) or smashed(sport bjj). People say they'll just adapt. But if you've primarily been a guard player for the past 10 yrs and suddenly switch to mma and find yourself in a bad spot, you're more likely to pull guard instead of scrambling back up, due to muscle memory. even though you know logically you shouldn't. Having a wrestler's mindset in a bjj/mma/self defense situation, is the best option. "Be on top, stay on top, win on top. Think street, while practicing sport" - Chris haueter. It's why mma fighters who transition to bjj sport are often more successful, than submission hunters/spammers who transition to mma. Position before submission.
Unfortunately, competition BJJ (especially Gi) is completely a sport at this point. Would you penalize Judo grips that allow punches/kicks/headbutts through? If not, it makes little sense to expect BJJ to adhere to striking principles.
Personally, I train in a way that avoids positions that wouldn't be useful in MMA/no-rules fighting. But that means totally avoiding "competition" strategies all together. e.g. no closed guard (except to control posture/strikes temporarily), no inversion or heavy leg-lock focus, no taking the back from standing/turtle, releasing subs and countering as soon as any form of lifting is initiated. Everything has to work on someone 20-30kg heavier than me (or at least have a real chance to), otherwise I try to forget it.
I started out training MMA, so never trained Gi anyway. But if you want to be a competitor (especially Gi)... there's almost no chance you're also gonna stay "fight safe". The moment anyone puts on some grappling gloves and does a strike round (also watching for upkicks) they realise 70-80% of the stuff they learnt is useless. Ain't no way sport BJJ is coming back to self defense relevancy.
@@kris3451 With judo, i've lost hope, since they restrict grips more and more at the olympic level for absolutely no reason. But for, bjj, if they were to adhere to a catch wrestling ruleset, where a victory is through submission or
through a pin, athletes would naturally start seeking top positional control instead of guard playing. that's the closest you can get in a sport environment to simulate a real fight There needs to be a universal ruleset when it comes to bjj. but that's going to take some time.
If Mighty Mouse can beat a 250 pound brown belt, imagine what he would do to Bradley Martin.
Yeah but Bradley is 260
260 pounds is a different ballgame
