Fun fact : While I was introduced to this piece by FNaF, the first time I went to a classical concert a couple of years after, this piece was played after the interlude. I was scared shitless and very surprised hahaha
While I’ve been a FNaF fan for well over a few years, I’ve been a trained pianist even longer. I was given training that was primarily focused on classical music (later my training expanded outside of classical, and music theory was a key aspect of my training since day 1). But I digress, the Toreador March was one of the many songs I learned and developed a great appreciation for. Upon hearing it in the first Five Nights At Freddy’s game, it peaked my interest. What an original and creative use of this type of music. I delved deeper into the games and found more music like this. Some were remakes of classical songs just like Toreador, some were completely original pieces (such as Ballora’s Music Box). But they all had one thing in common: at their heart, they were all beautiful compositions clearly written by talented people with classical training as I have. Now mind you, the music (and audio in general) is not my only reason for loving this franchise. But it is most certainly a contributing factor. Being a person with an ear for music and sound, you tend to listen much deeper than most. I have to thank FNaF for inspiring and motivating my music career. I am truly proud it was part of my childhood, and to this day still holds a special place in my heart.
Yeah, probably because records carry the sound signal of instruments being played at the producer’s end, while music boxes carry instructions for the playing of instruments at the user’s side. Therefore it would sound a whole lot better _if the music box is in good condition_ and the music boxes themselves would have to be whole lot more complex than a record player. Also as the above comment noted, songs requiring lyrics are basically impossible to be reenacted locally.
My childhood is officially destoryed. I loved this song. Everyday when we went in the car (when I was three) we would put in a music disc that played swan lake toreador and a bunch of other songs and music boxes from fanf. My favorite one was toreador.
Honestly, I knew this song before FNAF but had forgotten it until I played the game. I'm so glad I got back into this. It's such a beautiful piece, no matter what anyone associates it with.
A beautiful sound. I used to visit a museum where we had a similar large cabinet music box and it could be operated by a coin. I would always head for it, insert a coin and listen to it play. Such wonderful memories.
2:35 "Any attempt to make this music device play other than inserting a 10 Pfennig coin will be charged with fraud and prosecuted." A rough translation of the disclaimer.
I fucking hate FNAF fans. They mention their stupid game in something that wasn't even intended to be part of it. It is NOT horror. The only reason why it got popular was because of Pewdiepie and Markiplier. If they did not play the game, you would have never knew about it. So stop acting like its soooo amazing

I love this song so much. To me it combines Erieness, innocence, nostalgia, and excitement all in one. It just reminds me of a young child growing up on the 80's care free. This song feels like it was someone's childhood. I didn't come here from fnaf. I came to enjoy the music even though fnaf is the reason I feel that way.
I honestly don't understand why everyone is getting upset about Five Nights At Freddy's bringing people to the song. It's really not that big of a deal. Besides, isn't it better if people who usually would not hear this song be introduced to it? Funnily enough, I wasn't introduced to this song through FNAF at all. I've heard the first part of the song countless times from my old NintenDogs game. I heard the part you hear in FNAF while I was watching an episode of Gilligan's Island. I was quite pleased to hear it in music box form, as it is a very pretty tune.

Awesome. Pure awesomeness... To imagine that huge machine can only do one song is weird. Glad we have phones and not those to carry around whenever we want a song.
Charles E. It does not only play one song! It is like a very very early cd player or record player... it can play as many songs as you have discs. see my other videos for more songs. We have about 30 discs with different songs. and i guess there were around 150 different discs produced or more. I am not sure about that atm...
When i was a little boy and was sleeping at grandmas (lol good name for a game) and everytime i would go to bed i would say: "grandma i want box!" And she would make the song play... Memories... And now FN@F has it and i have the game. Now everytime i play the game i get reminded of my childhood :)
This is a nice song. I get that everyone who plays FNAF knows this as Freddy's song, but I just like this. It doesn't remind me of an animatronic bear.

Hurrah! How wonderful are the melodies played by music-box. The sound of toothed comb picked by rolling spiked cylinder and small tuned set of bells are really pleasant and amazing to hear. Nowadays these types of music-boxes and chiming clocks are electronically imitated by some quartz clocks because they contains electronically recorded and programmed circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker. This song reminds me of working at scratch cat’s tacos as a security guard. And whenever the power goes out, this orange cat animatronic appears on the left door and it plays this sound.
Even though an overabundance of people came here because of FNAF (including myself), you must admit this is incredible, regardless of if you were here before or after FNAF.

I was listening to music in the car one time in 2015 and this song came on (it was on shuffle) and scared me half to death! The opening always startled me a little, but after FNAF it just got worse! Its crazy that a german man from the 1800s made this song and then many many years later its brought here as a song for a character from a horror game that made the game so popular as a franchise. Brings a tear of joy to my heart hearing that its getting a movie appearance now.

I don't think it's bad that some people have never heard the song before FNAF, it may be caused by a difference in generations . Even though some seem to be annoyed in the comments from all the FNAF fans/comments, they are entitled to their opinions, but I believe that it's good to teach people something new no matter how they discover it. -Also this is a lovely version of this song-

(The following is on another Toreador video) Okay. Warning! I don't know what this following comment will contain. Beware! First off, I LOVE this song. I also happen to LOVE FNaF. I have gotten TONS of hate because of that, and let me tell you haters: everyone has an opinion. You have an opinion. I have an opinion. That random person outside of your house has an opinion. We are all human. I had to deal with really bad hate. I was told to kill myself, called autistic, retarted, etc. I don't mind if you hate our fandom, it sucks! It truly does, but I am apart of it. It is my life. All I am asking, is please: don't insult people for not agreeing with you. We are all human, and we have different opinions. You can insult us because of how dysfunctional we are, just please, don't use mental disorders. It is pretty offensive. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this, and remember: I respect your opinion.
+Bella's TH-cam | mcsteverocksYT Very nice, thats how I feel on this stuff, you don't have to like it, just don't insult people because of it. SO VERY MANY HAVE KILLED THEMSELVES BECAUSE OF THIS! This ain't just about Fnaf, it's for all those fandoms and the like.

Malamute456 to be honest I llike the version without bells more, too. but only on the recording. it it not easy to tune the sound right. the bells are too present in the recording. when you hear the music box it sounds alot better with bells...
+Angelique Brown So you think you are talking for all people? Before I knew fnaf, everytime i heard this song i sat and listened. I don't care if fnaf has it.
IF I SEE ONE MORE PEWDIEPIE SUCKS AND YOU HATE ON FNAF FOR THE FNAF COMMENTERS YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO SOUND SMART I KNEW THIS SONG BEFORE FNAF BUT DO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE FNAF COMMENTS? NOPE I DON'T , IN FACT YOU SHOULD THANK FNAF BECAUSE IT GOT TOREADOR MARCH AT THE PEAK OF IT'S POPULARITY, SO SHUT THE POOP UP HATERS.
Everyone who says "I liked this song beforr fnaf" or "enjoy the music for what it is" are just hipsters, cause god forbid some people discover music from games or movies and show their love for it, but some of these hipsters are just annoying with their insults and calling anyone who discovered this song from fnaf retards, so hipsters, just shut up plz

+Bella's TH-cam | mcsteverocksYT I agreed with you until the 2nd last line.
+Rockcroc2000 what I mean is that I have met someone with those disorders, and they found it offensive that the were compared to the FNaF fandom.
Bella's TH-cam | mcsteverocksYT I understand why they were insulted, but you can use those words all you want, nonetheless.
Completly agree. This war is stupid!
no this is *REAL* music , its night 5 5:59 am waiting and praying for freedy not to strike

Can someone explain to me how this old machine is able to fit in a bear animatronic?
And suddenly music boxes are gaining in popularity because of a single game?
they used a version of this song in the game.
Coin McMoney
Here's the original recording: www.sounddogs.com/previews/3716/mp3/1089554_SOUNDDOGS__ca.mp3
Recorded in 2000 on a 1905 Regina Music Box using the Toredor March
Found on eBay here: www.ebay.com/itm/Music-Box-15-5-Discs-Lot-of-5-Regina-Polyphon-15-1-2-inch-Disc-Carmen-etc-/261628118800?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cea404710
***** probably in a recording room where all external sounds are blocked, and with a very high quality microphone.

Ah so this is where the guy from final nights 4 got it from.
Also same, Man that song brings old memories.
may i have permission to use this?
It's fnaf, BUT IN 1887 NOT 1987
May I use this for a video?
Personally I like the bell-free version better.
Malamute456 to be honest I llike the version without bells more, too. but only on the recording. it it not easy to tune the sound right. the bells are too present in the recording. when you hear the music box it sounds alot better with bells...
TinnedmusiC At 1:24. why does it sound like something hit the music box?
*****
ah, i see
thanks Bob B good idea, but here this sound came from the metal disc which is also around 120 years old and is a little twisted...
TinnedmusiC thank you for the information! :)
you are welcome :)
This was made in 2011 ,3 years before FNAF came out
OG Payne Read the description...
So glad Scott added this in his game
Final Night's 4
Fredbears music box 1:06-1:38
Glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed it sounded a little bit like Fredbears jingle in Final nights 4
so beautiful ....I wish people knew this song for not only for Fnaf but for its beautiful tune.
+Angelique Brown So you think you are talking for all people? Before I knew fnaf, everytime i heard this song i sat and listened. I don't care if fnaf has it.
+Natascia Riccieri I didn't say all people
Natascia Riccieri I was referring to people who come here and say " that's the fnaf song "
Angelique Brown oh, ok then :)

1:09 GOD DAMN THIS IS SO CREEPY NOW THANKS FIVE NIGHTS AT FREEDY
I thought maybe that was your avatar that was creepy. :/
This is a splendid song
GOD DANG IT PEOPLE IF YOU KNEW THIS SONG BEFORE GOOD TO KNOW, BUT DO NOT HATE ON TH-camRS AND PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE THEY CAME HERE FROM FNAF
Just think about it as I was getting popular because fnaf I think this is way better than the one in the game
NINJAof SPARTA I hate fnaf the game sucks and they ruined all jumpscares and ps . Scott shouldn't of make a third game #milkingafranchize

Hello.
1:09 2:36
put these here to compare both parts because someone said the second time the song was played it was without bells.
can’t tell the difference.
This is actually final nights 4 power outage but with a jingle
Yes
That is, you want to say that the bear is dragging a whole music cabinet to the left door behind him ???
I did wonder when watching FNAF where I heard this song before...
Guess some memories don't leave you.
i was like that also when i heard the tune because ive heard classic music sometimes,
then i realized it.
Wait! You didn't see the opera?
well, i have heard recordings of the opera, not real.
Guys, please just stop for gods sake, its filling my inbox.
but i cant find it!
There are more comments complaining about "FNAF brought me here" comments than there are "FNAF brought me here" comments.

6 AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could make him
You are dead when you hear that sound
I came here because we played this in music class.
Does anyone know this came before Five Nights at Freddy's?
Of course, this is written by George Bizet.
Yes, of course I do.
This song was always stuck in my sub-conscious. I feel I remember it. The song that plays in the game reminded me of this. Really good piece of music.
#grd4 music class learned
of course
when you play this while the power was off, you're hearing strange laugh coming from your closet
