It's June 2013 so you may not see this comment non-the-less I wanted to say thanks for the vied. I've been trying to get info on the Gorge so that I could take my RV out on its maiden voyage. You gave me a pretty good look-see. I just wish you had said some thing about the trout or lake there of. You see I like to do a bet of fly fishing. I live close by in the no that's Fresno for those that's not in the no. thanks again peace out con bread.
@wawhiker Thanks for the nice comment. I actually didn't think it was one of my best. Cloudy, no sun I think I was either tired or a bit sick. But I did have fun. And I am *SO* partial to being by the water that I was jazzed going out there. I wanted a easier hike this time too. Not so much climbing. And it's nice to be down where there's more oxygen! I'll be going back there. I'm gonna check into it more and find a camp spot out there if camping is allowed. Hope your planning your next one!
June 2013 it is! Thanks for the comment. There's really no lake at this spot. and I'm no fisherman that's for sure. But you might want to look at my Kerkhoff lake video. People do fish there. And it has a great little place for camping and the RV. If you feel real adventurous get up to Mystery lake. Check out my Dinkey lakes video for that. People do it a a day hike if your in shape for the altitude. There are mosquitoes up there those during the year. Have fun with that RV! What kind?
@Ekulytes It WAS really nice. And it was kind of nice being out in that weather too. I little drizzle here and there and the overcast. It's actual kind of nice after a Fresno hot summer. I ain't scared of no bull....
@medicjimr Thanks for the comment. This one was an easy one. A few extra steps DOWNHILL to get to the water. A bit treturous climbing down some big boulders and loose stuff. But worth it!
This is the perfect place to take the family. Provided they don't mind the (easy) hike. And if they have never been in a gorge they will really like it. I always bring a sandwich and sit out there and have lunch. I mean once you get there it's good to hang out for a bit, take some pictures, walk around a little. You'll see the occasional steer out there too. Give it a try!
Ben Gonzales Let me know how it goes. Are you camping? I've been wanting to drive down there with my little camper and spend the night, have a fire and wake up to hike.
i live in fresno so it should be easy getting there, but from where you went, did you encounter any vernal pools? r do you know what trails t take to get to a vernal pool, i bet they're all dried up by now, but id appreciate some helpful guide..
Hello I remember going somewhere around this area as a kid and there's was a very very hight cliff off limit but open to walk to it does anyone know what it is called and there was old crash cars at the buttom of it. I was so scary it was so far down and I always wonder about that cliff.
Beautiful! The river and the rocks
