- in this video i blow up a briggs and stratton 125cc by completely removing the fan shroud and proceeding to cut tall grass and tie the throttle open. this caused catastrophic engine failure then i take the engine apart to see exactly what went wrong. there is also some bts footage of me and my friend trying to start this thing and you can see that i did not ruin a good lawnmower engine, this thing would not start without prematurely dumping oil into the intake before attempting to start it
You should get a riding mower and change the pulley ratios and make it fast
You cannot run an air-cooled engine for very long without the fan shrouding before overheating it. The shroud directs the air from the fan on the flywheel over the cooling fins. Without it, the engine will overheat extremely fast and your motor is toast!
Yes I’m fully aware of that and that’s exactly why I took the shroud off, I wanted this engine to blow
