That road past wickenby is great but I'm a sucker for the bit between Wragby and Louth. It never gets talked about because all the roads round there are so good.
You can't beat a good assistant, well you could but he probably won't want to be your assistant any more. Loving this set of videos, really looking forward to seeing the last few pieces of the puzzle slotted into place.
Great videos I’ve been enjoying them! And great thorough explanations on each fix! I’ve got a 99 R1 I’m getting road ready and all these videos have been a great help!! Thx keep it up
My temperature gauge on my 4xv used to read randomly it was just the wire on the ground on the rad had gone green and manky, cut it back and re-crimped and all good
Fantanstic job Davey. I love the look of the original R1 but my only experience is a tamiya kit i built in this scheme (even the red sprocket) Must get the opportunity to swing a leg over one!
Excellent result Dave, a truly great restoration project. When you rebuilt the brake calipers, did you notice any piston sticking? Firstly without fluid then with? I’m sure you’ll work it out because you’re brilliant!✅💯🚀
Those lovely Ohlins forks are what the gen 1 version always needed. They all lacked enough rebound damping. Was it an accident that the moped reg plate says "sag"? 🤔
Most sports bikes want to be in the 30-40 mm sag area. Basically you're looking for 1/4 to 1/3 of the total travel and most sports bikes have around 120mm travel so it's a good starting point
@@obsession_engineering Thanks, I don't have much to play with on my wife's NC700D but as I'm doing a fork service and dropping the front about 10mm I thought it's a good time to see how the factory setup is. Bike is a bit sluggish.
it is a used moped , why are the helping hands massure only one suspension ...? but you gave both two spin's - sure you and your helping hands have had much much more experience sometimes the oil or gas bubble inside the pipes have different resistance if the medium is in flow 🤔
Enjoyed this setup exercise Dave. How did you arrive at the desired sag figures? And could the figures you quote be used on a standard 5JJ for road use?
Mostly experience to find the desired sag settings, on track I aim for 30mm, on the road a bit more sag usually gives a better ride, in the 35-40mm range should work well on most sporty road bikes
Nice!! I had one of these back in the day Its a personal thing but I think they look best with a stock screen (I know it didnt come with one) and the one thats on it looks Chinese (nasty) Great videos!!
Your little bits have always been sorted Dave..... 😂. Great vid!
Nice one, love the number plate on the bike in the shop 😀😉

Same thing with wires by radio cap happened to my blue 98,electrics went crazy till I sorted it out !...
Thanks for the effort of showing the extremes of adjustment Great vid
Well worth the effort. Lovely machije
Brilliantly explained.
Now going out to twiddle in my garage and then a test run.....😉
Smashing bike. Want one 👍
Brilliant video, I need to do this to my R1 (2000) but I don't have a friend ... :-)
Very informative suspension set for sag with a strategically placed reg plate with Sag on it just for effect :) lovely bike
a happy (saggy) accident :)
Great serie this Dave. Almost complete now. Great work with that Yamaha R1 1.0 👍🏻😀
Fantastic! One of the best videos I've seen in a while on the topic
Glad you liked it!
Nice one Dave, loving the double entendre :P lol

Well done!

I'm confident the pistons all moved nicely and it feels more of a disc issue... when a set arrives in the post I'll be able to find out for sure

That's no moped, it's a Russian sidecar outfit (and it was accidental)
@@obsession_engineering Jesus... I thought my eyesight was ok!!!
Any TH-cam tips for bike suspension setup? I found this video very informative....does it apply to all bikes in respect to the values?

Do some video on Rsv4 ,it's my dream bike ,and I know you have one there😍😄🤗
I used to race a v4, gorgeous bikes. The one in the background was a customers bike in for some work

I do agree, original usual looks best. This one I don't mid though and the extra height is handy too
