So greatful you're all OK. We faced the Butte Mountain Fire here in California and evacuated for 8 days. We were blessed and safe not as lucky as many neighbors. Such a shock and fear we'll never forget. Greatful that you and your family are safe❤️
MJ Henderson Wow, that's crazy. I see how out of control those wildfires get. I watched a documentary about the smoke jumpers out in WY & I was amazed with what they have to go through to put those fires out. I'm glad you were spared from that fire as well. Too close for sure!💞
So sorry you are dealing with that. there have been brush fires all over do the last few weeks. that is why when I bought my house I made sure there were no trees in sight around my house. glad your safe.
Krymsyn Tree I hear ya. Our house was built in 1997 when there were way more trees & woods compared to now. I still can't believe it started on our same street but across the canal. If the wind hadn't shifted, our house would've been in it's path. So relieved we're ok. 😊

Sue Boyd Thanks Sue dear. You are so right! On one hand I'm relieved that we were ok but on the other, I feel so bad for those who weren't spared. We of course have homeowners insurance w/ coverage to also replace inside belongings but some things can't be replaced. I can't imagine what it'd be like to have to start all over again. We feel lucky for sure!
I know about the home fear. Was hit by an F4, about 5 mph shy of being an F5 tornado in 2009. About 5 minutes after the news said the bad weather was over. Spent a couple of months in a motel but home was repaired. Yours to me is worse. Mine was weather, nothing that you can prevent or help. It just is. Yours didn't have to happen except for 1 stupid idiot and all that tragedy.
kairosgrammy Wow, that's horrible. Tornados scare me b/c there isn't much warning. We get hurricanes but at least there is plenty of warning w/ those. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
Not only was there no warning, the news said not to worry. I still have mild flashbacks and bad weather warnings are not my favorite news item but at least stupidity didn't cause it. I have been praying for all of you. I hope the cigarette smoker is okay and that he has the sense to move. I smoked for 18 years and never once did I not make sure the cigarette was out. In a way, feel sorry for him. That is a lot of guilt to live with.
