Way danker than the other place?!?!?!?! High dankness praise indeed. The ribslook to die for, and I imagine they would be great with a cold bevvy or two❤
I am salivating just looking at the barbecued pork. I wished I knew the recipe, I would try and replicate it, although it would be difficult because here in England, they cut the pork chops in thick slices. Thinner is much better because the chop can soak up the marinade.
Well the thinner cuts can soak up the marinade but the thicker cuts can maintain more of the juicy original pork flavor. I think I always prefer a thicker pork chop if it’s not under cooked or over cooked
Thank you very much for your time and posting. With all the many videos I have seen, I can't wait to visit all the super nice people. That is what I really want. I've lived in Germany, still the nicest people I have met. Australians were super friendly, but it didn't work for me. So, as long as the 90-day visa works out, I think I will really like it. Thanks again. Side Note: Even your girlfriend said thank you. PS. :) I can tell you have been there for a long time when you say, "It's a 'pretty good deal', and the cost was US$1.40 for a great meal. ;)
Hey, sorry was just wondering how much a visa is if I want to move to Vietnam aside from the passport to stay there permanently or at least up to 4 years
just order a takeaway and bring it to any rooftop cafe like Landmark 81, Bitexco and so on. How easy it is to enjoy 5-star lunch in Saigon! and of course, no crazy tip at all.
Wow… this is a momentous occasion! The best com tam in a city where there are probably a million com tam street vendors… just added it to my list for the next trip :-)Thanks!
Damn, that is a really bold statement to make on a $1.70 meal, but I have no way of disputing you on that judgement call. This poor restaurant owner is going to get a bunch of expats and tourists coming to his place suddenly. I hope he can handle the increase in customers. I love that neighborhood BTW. Google Map shows a bunch of places to hangout and drink coffee or eat on D. Tran Quang Long. Maybe you can do a walking tour on one of your future video to show other cafes and eateries available. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
@@BigTimeBentley Is D. Tran Quang Long street in Binh Thanh district now a Little Tokyo #2 in Saigon? I see a lot of Suishi places and Yakitori places on the google map. It looks like it is becoming a little high end and a little hipster too. I kind of like how the Westerners expats are gentrifying that district. I can't wait to look for a nice place to stay there on my next trip to Saigon.
@@BigTimeBentley Wow, what a great place to live. When are you going to do a video on the apartment that you rented in Binh Thanh? Any apartment near Pham Viet Chanh area will be an improvement from D1 by a lot.
You’ve definitely improved in your presentation on the channel. I’ve watched you from almost the beginning. This prob one of the videos you’ve done. The picture looks crisper. New camera?😊
If this is the best com tam place you have ever ate at in 6 years in Vietnam, you should find a way to partner with the owner to expand to a bigger street restaurant with more seatings and bigger/taller seatings for expats and tourists. I like the location next door under the shade tree and red lanterns. Probably less than $10,000 seed money to expand that com tam street restaurant. $10,000 is a small price for becoming a minority ownership/partnership in one of the best com tam restaurant in Saigon. You guys will be creating more employments for a couple more helpers in the expanded street restaurant as well.
@@BigTimeBentley You would be the investing silent partner. That pork is pretty thick. I think the thickness makes it juicier and more flavorful. I usually gnaw on the bone until my teeth wears out making my cat jealous.
No. 2. So, did you notice the person in your video in white? He ate his rib with a fork. Is it an American thing to eat with your fingers and VN thing to eat with sticks and a knife/fork? I thought it was interesting.

@@BigTimeBentley, I think Joe does not like the word cheap in this instance, as it has a slight derogatory meaning, so the word inexpensive is more appropriate, as the food is really good.
Inexpensive has a positive connotation. It describes something that doesn't cost a lot of money. Cheap also describes something that does not cost a lot of money, but it gives a feeling that it is not well-made.

yeah I wasn't expecting it to be so good!
I’m amazed that this channel hasn’t blown up yet. Very enjoyable viewing. Certified Dank ! 👍🏼

Funny that I made this comment before hearing you say the exact same thing in the video.
yeah it's worth a flight
I’m willing to book a $1000 flight just to come here and eat and fly back the next day 😅
This food looks amazing! I've been watching your videos this week preparing for my trip to Vietnam in a couple of days. Thanks for the content.

I am waiting for the day you rate a dish 10. It would be worthwhile to come to Vietnam to try it.
I don't think I'll ever give a 10...9.9 may be the highest because perfection is elusive if not non-existent...but yeah a 9.9 would be an epic find
Thanks ❤

great video. watched it three times because of you guys enjoying the dish so much :D
awesome! thanks for watching

Phuc Map is really good at Vietnamese
Got to try this place on my next visit
for sure!
i'll be there in 3 weeks for this dish with bbq pork

Hello Tyler and Trang, I am not familiar Binh Thanh area how far it is from district 1 ( Pham Ngu Lao area ? )
The rice dish looks very good. Thanks
Really near
this part of binh thanh is about 15 minutes from pham ngu lao without traffic
yummy!

Tyler paid two dishes of food 3 quid
like that in London is 13 quid
A bit more, I live in London, and can I say here it's very expensive to go out and have a lunch or dinner
How did this place compare to the famous cow tam ba ghien?
Cheaper for sure 😅😢

The portions are bigger at ba ghiền, but the taste is better here at Long Xuyên
