This is great, I've searched for this kind of video before to try and understand how EJ does these fills, the suspended chord one is used on lots of songs (e.g. Border Song). There's also one he does where instead of going from one chord to the next he 'walks up' for want of a better phrase, the notes in between the chords in the left hand which sounds great. Can you do more of these , trying to follow these fills from sheet music is really hard, but understanding the principles of what he's doing is much easier (and as you've said on other videos Elton John rarely plays them the say way twice either which says a lot!)
Hi, I’ve watched most of your tutorials here on TH-cam and it’s widely improved my playing in a period of just a few months keep up the great work, just wondered if you’d ever upload more Elton John and billy joel tutorials here? A few examples being candle in the wind and an innocent man etc thanks
Hi Steve, I've only recently found your channel and I'm loving your content; this video in particular is awesome. After watching I listened to Eltons Candle in the Wind. I think I hear some arpeggios in there but is he mainly using another technique for that tune?
Hey! He uses a lot of our patios as part of the rhythm pattern in “candle in the wind“… Less so in the gaps for piano fills. I will probably use that and some other songs to demonstrate other techniques that I’ve learned from his piano stylings in future videos. Great question!
Thank you for this lesson, I am in love with Mr Elton John songs and his piano playing. Blessings to you.
Dude can sing..
This is a great video, one of my favorites. No one really covers this but in passing. Can't wait for the other parts.
Excellent lesson!!! More like this please!

@@PianoManSteve cheers for the response - I look forward to seeing those videos 🙂👍
I know Billy Joel plays in a different style, but can you make a similar video on Billy Joel?
Fully intend to… I expect a series of videos on both like this where we break down patterns that I’ve observed from studying them over the years 👍👍
Do you have a complete tutorial for The One?
I don't currently, but I will keep that in mind. Thanks for watching!
