Excellent life tips! I just retired and love how you point out that even someone retired still need to use compounding interest In the important areas of life! Brilliant!! Thank you!!!

I was pretty excited, I asked my 16 year old daughter this question and she immediately said the penny. Turns out she has had 4 different teachers teach this to her over the years.

Omg I agree with hating going grocery shopping , so I use Amazon Fresh Whole Foods delivery to get exactly what I need, which saves me time!! Great video thank you!

So true! Excellent points u are making that many don't take the time to think about...everyone on the perpetual treadmill. Much appreciated insights!

The extreme compounding lesson is something I learned back when the Los Angeles Lakers won 33 games in a row while en route to a championship season. My businessman/engineer father had taken that opportunity to teach pre-teen me how much you would have earned if you bet $0.01 on the Lakers on game one and let it ride, exiting the bet after game 33.
He took other opportunities to teach me the folly of gambling. 🙂

Haha that’s a more fun example than the one I used!

Compound interest doesn’t hold a candle to leverage. Quality rental real estate is like creating your own inflation-adjusting annuity, which is also inter-generational. Plus, refinancing to prune equity allows you to invest in more, or spend tax-free without interrupting the pace of increase. Can’t do that if you’re relying on compounding. Plus, sequence of returns is significant if you’re “betting” on the market. Plus, you have to pay taxes on the gains, even though a substantial portion of the gains is nothing more than keeping up with purchasing power declines because of 40 years of inflation.

I am just the opposite with my time. I would spend the time to to do work so I don't have to pay others and save the money. I would rather spend my time making coffee then go to Starbucks to pay someone else to make expensive coffee.
