Magica is a terrifying villain, both because of her powers and intense hatred of Scrooge. But her treatment of Lena is easily the most unsettling aspect of her character, because it's a disturbingly accurate portrayal of parental abuse. Lena is practically being held hostage by someone who has no regard for her life beyond being a tool, with Magica keeping Lena isolated by making her think people will reject her if they knew the truth about her, causing the girl to suffer in silence as a result. The magical elements only serve to make Lena's abuse feel even more inescapable. It's part of what makes Lena one of the most tragic characters in Ducktales.
I LOVE that the Ireland joke is a double jab at both Scrooge and the voice actor David Tennant who is also Scottish. Fun fact: Magica is voiced by Tennant’s Doctor Who co-star and friend Catherine Tate. They are THE BEST!!
You didn't forget anything. This is the first time it's been made clear that Magica has any power over Lena. Fun little detail, the book Webby's been hiding in her room is named after a sorcerer from the 1990 Ducktales movie, so that's neat.
We will learn about the difference between the purple and blue magic that Lena uses, but unfortunately not until the last season. In the meantime, you can look forward to the episode "The Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck"
Lena and Glomgold two of my favorites. I love Webby and Lena’s friendship. The next Lena episode is called, The Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck, which is amazing. The Agent 22 episode I instantly loved it the first time I watched it. Intrigued to see what your reaction will be.
No problem! Spending time with family is more important than anything. But I am happy you’re still genuinely enjoying this show, rather than feeling obligated to continue watching and ultimately losing interest. Can’t wait for more!

There's shipping fuel galore for those two but what I always found more interesting was how Webby was portrayed as if she hadn't yet realized what her feelings meant either because of age or just not being ready to deal with it yet. In any case it's super cute and wholslesome.
Depending on how many scenes you regard as shipping fuel and quite a few actions in this episode alone, can be considered as moving in that direction, the answer to your shipping question is VERY obvious.
