      Eberflus has no effect on how Justin Fields last year. There weren’t many designed runs. He ran because there was no blocking.

  • @A2theJ9
    @A2theJ9 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +187

    In college he had a dominant O-line and dominant receivers. He did great throwing the ball. Last year he had the worst supporting cast. Worst pass blocking line, lowest paid WR group in the league and he was learning a new offense. He had no time to throw to guys that couldn't get open and when they would get open he was running for his life. It was a terrible situation yet they lost by one score or less 7 times?
    Let's not forget Justin Fields doesn't play defense. Bears D gave up the most yards of any team and I believe the most points? Come on. How do you expect a young QB learning a new offense to succeed in that scenario? The Bears are much improved this year top to bottom and Fields isn't learning a new offense. We should see a significant jump From Fields barring injuries. If they can stay mostly healthy, 10+ wins isn't crazy.

    Look at what Hurts has around him. Arguably a top 3 WR core and a stout defense to give him the ball back when he does mess up. How many different coaches, GMs, OCs and systems has Jalen had to learn vs Justin? This is Justin's 3rd yr but really it's his 2nd and his 2nd yr in this system with this staff. He will have a significant jump. I'm not anticipating a gang of rushing yards out of him as we have dogs in our RB room from RB1-4. If recievers and that new O-line can stay healthy. I think Justin gives us somewhere around 3500+passing yards, 600 rushing, 25-30 pass TDs and maybe 10 or 12 INTs. Maybe even single digit INTs. 8 out of our 14 losses were 1 score games. Notice we put up points but our defense loss alot of those games for us, not Justin. He was the reason we were even in those games.

      I don't think 3500passing yards and 25-30TDs is a mvp season when u got guys like Mahomes and a couple others throwing 4k and better blind folded. But seriously think about the situation Justin was in when he 1st got to the league. I'm a diehard, go down with my ship Bears fan. We did not put Justin in a winning situation. Most ppl they try to compare to Justin, none of them went to a team that was in shambles like Justin did. He's going into his 3rd yr and he's already had 2 of everything thrown at him so far as staff (2 different coach's, GMs, OCs, systems etc). The only 2 weapons he had was Mooney and Kmet and Mooney was hurt most of the time last yr. We sent the man to war without a gun and he still did exceptional. U add weapons and give him some protection. Give him a stable staff and some young teammates that are dogs that will go out and play for him. Now watch what he does...we will punch alot of people in the mouth this yr. We will make the playoffs and we will have a solid season. I'm not saying we will go deep in the playoffs but ppl forget. We're setup to pluck a few more studs out of next yrs draft too and still be 1 of atleast the top 5 teams in cap space. Keep sleeping 😴. Next yr....we'll be the topic of discussion on every panel like we were in 2k18 but this time it's not coming down to a missed kick. Watch, Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus will show the world how u rebuild a team and win. We're going ATLEAST 10-7 this yr if everybody can stay healthy. It's a whole new culture in Chicago. Our defense will punish ppl and our offense will embarrass ppl. Stop hating on Justin....oh , ooh and another thing. Ryan Pace left us in a mess. We had no money whatsoever and a bunch of old guys on big contracts that werent producing. Look what Ryan Poles did with generating cap space, pure genius. Does Fields have the physical talent (running and throwing) to enter the conversation? Yes.
    Does he have the coaches to teach him to be a better QB (vision, pocket presence, reading the defense, etc.)? Yes (Luke Getsy is a great OC)
    Does he have the mindset of being a great QB (being a leader)? Yes.
    Is he surrounded by players who can support him (weapons, O-line)? Yes.
    If he is able to utilize his talent, understand concepts, be a leader, and his weapons are able to support him, Justin Fields could potentially be a top 10 QB in the league in the future.

    Hurts had the most talented team last year, hard for Fields to make that jump. As a bears fan i just want him to improve over 3k passing yards with a good td/int ratio would be good for me, don't need the rushing yards. This young in his career, playoffs is only possible if that defense comes elite again. Josh Allen didn't look great unil he got Diggs and Bills have had an elite defense for a min

    The thing that’s bothering me with the debate and even some of yall in the comments, is it not possible to separate the player from accolades and team success for this particular reason. If people are asking if Fields can take the “Jalen Hurts” Leap, aren’t u asking for the progress as a passer/playmaker and better production. If that’s the case why is “the team went to the superbowl and he was all pro” part of it. Chicago is still in a rebuild vs the Eagles legitimately finished that step and are super bowl contenders. So even if Fields takes the leap and have identical numbers, the team success nor the accolades will follow because Hurts had a Super Bowl roster around him, while Fields would be in year 2 of a rebuild.

    Joy really is the best. I think Fields *could* be as talented as Lamar or even more so than Hurts, but he has to show it at this level. They already did. I believe he can and will but he certainly hasn't yet
