Heeyy !! It's good to see you again on YT. Have you ever think to make a "behind the scene" of your short film... It could be interesting for drone beginers users like me ;) Bye and thank you for the sharing
I would enjoy doing that when the time allows. In this instance I was on the island for only around 15 hours or so, including sleeping overnight, so I only had a few hours in the evening and a few hours in the morning to film everything. Still, in future Blank by Drone videos I'll need to keep that in mind.
Blue Mantle Films yes please, your settings are awesome to give everything that cinematic movie feel . And also tips to avoid lost connectivity fly always and such if you’re able to.
I used to come here all the time with my Dutch grandparents for a holiday, I moved to New Zealand 14 years ago and watching this genuinely made me tear up. Amazing video it brought back memories I forgot I had.
Through circumstances beyond my control, I may never be able to visit these charming and interesting places in the world. Yet, even if I could, your wonderful videos present these places in images and from angles I could never hope to see. Thank you so much for the flight of fancy in the real world.
You're welcome, and I'm glad the videos are enjoyable for you! Even for myself, having been to these places to film, I find myself coming back to the videos on occasion to remember how beautiful these places were.
Thank you for creating and posting your inspirational film. Just about to delve into drone photography (and flying) after receiving my Air 2 yesterday. Your editing, cinematography, and music timing have set a very high bar for video production. Thanks again for sharing your work and expertise. I look forward to viewing your other films.
Thanks, G Randy! I love building ambient atmosphere into my videos...sometimes I am more successful than other times, and I think this was one of the more successful times. :-) Thanks for watching!
Ah so cool that you ve made this! I am at texel right now, our dutch islands are do nice. You should consider also visit the most biutiful one;Schiermonnikoog
I was on Texel only for an overnight, but I enjoyed it and it was very beautiful. It was the only one of the islands that I went to, but I would have enjoyed seeing some of the others. I actually met someone at the hostel I stayed at who was bike riding across the islands, south to north, so he eventually would have ended up at Schiermonnikoog.
I agree! I used to own an Inspire 1 Raw, but it was overkill for my needs. It's invaluable to have a drone that takes such good imagery (yes, not as good as I1R, but still!) while being so compact that I can fit it into my camera case alongside my other cameras.
Thank you! I definitely lucked out because I was only there filming for an evening and a morning. The afternoon/evening light was beautiful and allowed me to capture some cool shots pretty quickly.
Man you kill it with these. I need so much practice to get something even remotely similar. Also still surprises me you don’t have at LEAST 100K followers with the amazing content you produce
Thanks! Practice is good (don't get me wrong) but the drones practically fly themselves now. I think what's more important is knowing how to give yourself the best chance of getting great shots. For myself I always try to film at golden hour...the first and last 2-3 hours of daylight. That alone goes a really long way in making the shots look cool. Please share the video with friends...hopefully the channel will keep growing!
Blue Mantle Films I had 2 fly aways with the original mavic even after learning situations to avoid to not have that happen, actually have had the mavic 2 since the first day it came out and went on a few huge trips around Europe and NZ/Australia, Hawaii and was too apprehensive to even fly it both times. I need to get over that fear though, just money wasted currently so I need to make it happen
@@SFbayArea94121 I've lost three drones in the 6 years since I started droning. As much as it sucks, getting out there and doing something with them (even if I eventually lose them) is better than letting them sit in the closet, I think. I even told my wife when I started making TH-cam videos more regularly "I'm going to lose some drones at some point", and because of that --knowing that it was likely to happen-- it helped a lot once I did lose my first.
Thanks! I was lucky to get a pretty sunset -- I was on the island only for an overnight, and filmed a few hours in the evening and a couple of hours in the morning.
Majestic Flights I agree. The whole vid was exceptional, but that too was probably my fav scene. Blue mantle been killing it with these, extremely surprised he doesn’t have at least over 100K subs, his content is incredible
Pill Cosby thanks for the comment. Just because someone has amazing videos doesn’t mean they get commensurate number of subscribers. A lot more factors influence that. There a lot of mediocre channels out there with lots of subscribers!
Been going through a lot of M2P videos and yours are by far the best. The colours are so nice and the quality is amazing! Can you share the settings with us and how you manage you colours?
Thanks! I had planned on (and even started making) a video about the M2P settings that I use, but by the time I was getting ready to edit it, there were already a TON of videos out about that subject, so I thought my video would just add to the noise. I can't promise anything, because I do have some hired projects in my queue right now, but your comment has me thinking about if I should revisit that video and actually finish it.
It's an amazing tool! It didn't take long after getting the Mavic 2 Pro for me to sell my Inspire 1 with X5. All other things equal, the Inspire capture better footage, but the gimbal wasn't as reliable (it would slow-wobble a lot) and the image quality itself between the two was still very comparable. And the convenience of carrying something that can fit in my camera backpack alongside my regular video equipment is just awesome. So yeah, I really like the M2P!
I gotta admit this is a great video and I kinda loved what you said before that you made this video around 40 metres and looking awesome. Now you got me thinking why was I flying so high then, although I usually only take photos, videos not so much. Also, aren't you afraid to fly above the water and what about the birds? A seagull once chased my drone and from that moment I decided to fly much much higher.
Flying over water is safer than flying over land because over water there won't things for me to crash into. Particularly since I fly pretty low, I'm often flying around/between/near things when flying over land, but over water it's basically open sky. That said, if you're not careful with your batteries, then that can be bad news. I usually fly over water only toward the beginning of a battery's life, because you never know if there could be a cell error in the battery, causing low voltage, and if you're way out over the water you might not have time to get it back to you. I actually had that happen when I filmed my Ireland video which you originally commented on: I was out over water, and the battery ended up being low voltage and couldn't keep the drone aloft. I started bringing the drone back as quickly as possible, but it was going down. Amazingly, the drone landed on a small rock island that was about 50 feet from land, and probably only 10 feet wide. So I swam out to it and got my drone back. :-) Seagulls: I haven't been too concerned with them. They don't like the drone flying around, but I've never had a bird actually attack my drone.
It's a pretty small island, so I basically just spent an afternoon and the next morning driving around to find places to film. It was nice to see the lighthouse, which is on the northernmost tip of the island. The Dunes of Texel National Park was cool, and one thing I recommend (which I didn't really get to see) is a windmill near Oost. I went to it, and it was being restored, so the wings/arms were all off and it was only the building itself, which was covered in plastic. :-(
I would love to know the settings of your drone for such fluidity... I still have problems, like slight lags, it's not as smooth.. Do you film in 4K? Looks like you have more than 24fps. Your videos are really great. Great, it’s a dream come true.
This is fantastic! If you have a few minutes, I would be thrilled if you would consider uploading this to the AirVuz drone video sharing site. We have a curated collection of drone videos from the Netherlands and we’d be thrilled to feature your video in the collection. Just let me know if you have any questions or if you would like me to send you a link to the site. Cheers!
Thanks, Mike. How does licensing work with that? Can AirVuz re-edit my work and upload their own version? Or is it similar to TH-cam in that it's a platform for videos, it just happens to be a drone-specific platform? I've been aware of AirVuz for several years, but have been hesitant to upload my videos to it for fear that I'm granting too many licensing rights.
@@BlueMantleFilms Hi! When you upload to AirVuz, you do grant the site the right to license the content, but that right goes away when you delete the video. That being said, the only kind of licensing we do is through blocks of content like compilations and so forth, and when that footage plays the name of the contributor is watermarked on it. When someone comes to us and says that they want to license a particular video, we just put them in touch with the contributor and they make their own arrangements. This is happening more and more because the content is curated so heavily - if someone is looking to license content from South Africa for example, they invariably go to the South Africa collection and pick from the videos there. What this means is that the high quality content creators - the ones whose videos are in the collections - are getting licensing opportunities just for being part of AirVuz, and AirVuz takes none of that revenue - it's between the content creator and the licensor. And again, when you delete a video, all of our rights with respect to the underlying content go away. I hope this helps, and I really hope you decide to upload a video or two to the site. You will see good things happen - we have weekly giveaways, social media features, etc. plus the visibility that goes with being part of a curated collection. Just let me know if you have any more questions. Also, just for your information, here is a link to the Netherlands collection: www.airvuz.com/collection/aerial-views-of-the-netherlands?id=BkkG3nX-W
