This was one of my favorite scenes as a kid. I love the way Eric lights up when he realizes who he’s with. Also this scene used to make me super hungry when Eric would pull out the crunch bar

I don't think Grant had anything to worry about in this scene, even if Eric wasn't there to take him away from the Raptors. If you notice, these Raptors did not attack him. They surrounded him, but that's only because he had Billy's bag that contained the eggs. Grant didn't know the eggs were inside, but the Raptors knew. All they wanted was their eggs back. That also explains why they followed them right to near the beach at the end...to collect their eggs. Once the Raptors got their eggs back, they no longer had any reason to follow Grant and the others.
