Damn some nice sized LM! Hard to beat that as a birthday present haha. Hey any advice for locating LM in Western WA this time of year? Seems like most people just target smallies for the next few months but I don't mind catching less overall fish if I get some LM goodness. I'm not sure if they do actually stay shallow (but close to deeper water/breakpoints), bury down into deep existing weedlines or go to deeper structure or what, but I haven't been able to find them as a newer angler. Would love to see some behavior/seasonal/structure videos if you're looking for content haha, seems like we don't get those hardly at all specific to the PNW.
Love the idea...I followed them pretty closely until I had to turn my boat into a shop, was out of commission for the winter. I do find they don't just hunker down, they migrate along the shoreline then congregate in their winter spots - so not as deep as you'd think - stumps, docks, pilings, etc..., at least on the bodies I've been watching.
