"The reason it's year round is because we don't leave. So we had to make it year round."
That sounds like locals use this facility as much as tourists. I bet it has a small town charm to it, the neighbourhoods, the local farms, the park / trail system. That's a nice value to promote. Bicycling, including fat biking, seems a great way to embrace a sense of place.

Yes! Precisely. Now people want to live in, stay in, and return to the area. Such a positive transformation. Thanks for watching, Doug. Cheers! John

When I was mountain biking we had horses or horseback Riders that would almost run us off the trail and said that the mountain bike trails were there to do with as a please and if we get on their horseback trails though get us in trouble so we do about those bad apples?

Bummer. Well that sounds pretty rude.

No motorized trail. Including for grooming vehicles. So I wonder if an electric fat bike might pull a grooming rake?

Later Aaron explains that the DNR now allows a specialized motorized single-track trail groomer.

@@ActiveTowns I had that suspicion from the conversation but was thinking an ebike tugging a groomer might suit their needs and meet the DNR's previous tighter restriction. Plus, it would be zero emissions (and silent).

you park your car! Only that shows that it is still all about the car and that recreation belongs far away from home.

Good point. However, when you have nothing, you have to start from somewhere. Where I live, our local victories for bicycling are seen as imperfect by many, but we are building for connectivity so we can bicycle to the best places from our own front door.

Everyone deserves access to recreation within easy walking and biking distance from their home.
