Do I speak Japanese? No. Do I know what they're saying? Never. Do I sing along with every word with a good number of their songs? Yes.
I'm happy not knowing the lyrics because then they can be as awesome as they deserve to be.
MASSIVE props for not lip syncing. Choreography in real live performances that too in metal is just elite level stuff. Not everyone can do it. The stage presence of these girls is simply immense and her vocals are absolutely top-notch.
Oh and the instrumentalists are PHENOMENONAL.
It's a different genre, but an artist I just called Tate McRae popped into my feed and is like the catchiest pop music with old school mass choreography.
The "Exes" video has me dreaming of a collaboration with Babymetal. Similar presentation.
They definitely check all the boxes. Great musicianship, great songwriting, great performance, great showmanship, great production, great visuals. It's such a unique act and they pull it off correctly in every way.
No lip syncing...check your eyes champ. Look at the bridge ffs
This crowd puts American rock crowds to shame. The energy and presence is astounding.
Saw them live when they were here in Seattle and most of the crowd was just idly watching, sadly. So now I gotta watch their other live performances to get my fill.

Yeah Su-Metal is a vocal beast lol. The other girls have some pretty good lungs on them too but Su is just unmatched
So happy that the new member is permanent. She filled in at their show at the Forum in 2019, and she was so awesome and happy. They deserve everything.

Moa and Su still same as ever, and the Momo had been doing the third girl since like 2019 most of the time.
Yui supposedly got hurt falling off the stage and just didn't want to continue, but stick it out for longer than she should have.
Nothing but love to her, hope she's ok. Momo/Moa/Su and the new permanent Kami Band are just perfect for the newer era. I love the old Kami Band, but have found the new Kami band to be fantastic and as consistent as it gets.
Og Kami deserves a lot of praise for being established metal musicians risking a lot. Like watch 2014 Sonisphere if you need evidence of what they put on the line. But they need a band that's dedicated to them, and they couldn't have a better one.
Modern pop stars have NO excuse to lip synch because the choreography is difficult.
Always refreshing to hear some humanity in a performance these days.

Believe me, lip syncing is the least of modern Western performers. Few have the talent anymore to even write their musical scores, or the lyrics. Yet are willing to pay minuscule royalties to the true artists, & talents while they make millions. It’s a true travesty!!

Guys. These kids are like 17 years old, they have never drank a single sip of any alcohol nor smoked a cigarette or anything in life.
When I was this age I could literally run a 24km marathon, then drink half a bottle of vodka and smoke 2 joints with my friends until like 3 in the morning and be perfectly fit in school the next morning at 8 am.
What it must fell like to have thousands of fans singing your song along with you!! Absolutely magical!!

Wow I had never thought Babymetal could perform something live that sounds better than the studio recording. Amazing.
This is why I adore when singers don't lip-synch. Su sounds so perfect on the album but there is a breathiness and urgency to her singing in this version that brings so much humanity to it. She sounds like a girl on the album but like a woman here.
