This was a very interesting conversation! Thank you Bishop Jake's and Dr. Andrew Young. Bishop, I truly appreciated your thoughtful questions. They weren't softball questions the public usually hears. However, I was a little surprised with your statement regarding 'the people listening, aren't going to run for office...' I believe that it was a little over generalizing statement. Dr. Yang's insights regarding our current political system, may be the impudence that will motivate someone to run for a number of political offices one day. Having these types of conversations regarding our country, especially our current political climate and the misworkings of our government, definitely needs to continue. I understand the laws governing the church not allowed to engage in political discourse from the pulpit or endorsing a political party, however, I think there's room for these conversations with a spiritual leader such as yourself, to help congregations understand the implications of not being informed about how our government works. Individuals look to the national government for solutions, however, fail to show up in their local elections, which in reality, has the most immediate impact in our lives. Andrew Yang is not religious but he has some very fresh perspective that’s breaking the traditional political two party system that’s been in stalemate for a long time. I pray Holy Spirit to breath fresh winds in this country.
Are you looking out the window focused on the storm, or are you focused on what God promised you? He’s spoken dreams to your heart. The enemy has tried to drown them out with negative thoughts and negative circumstances, but they are still alive. What God started, He’s going to finish. Now do your part and remember what He said. Keep declaring what He promised; keep thanking Him for it.
