God bless you, Roddy - whether he was doing Shakespeare, historic drama, Planet of the Apes or cartoons, he always sounded like he was having the time of his life.
@@draph91 Because the art is frankly disturbing. This is the guy who designed the Xenomorphs from the Aliens franchise and that style is consistent in his paintings.
Chameleon likes classic art and hates modern art. Chameleon is big time art lover and doesn't considered modern art to be "art". After his defeat, his sentence is to be part of a modern artwork made by Secret Squirrel.
I remember this episode creeping me about a bit. The chameleon gushing a bit too hard about classic art and 2nd last painting made it seem like he was shot.
I've had it worse. I was a kid from Central Europe with english Cartoon Network channel on my TV. With little understanding of english language, this show was scarier.
Ironically, modern art became so popular anyone can put a banana stuck on a wall with tape and call it art. Art is intrinsically subjective, yet artists need solid skills that can justify the art piece.
It is! Roddy McDowall voices both him and The Chameleon. He was also another Batman villain in the 1966 series with Adam West and Burt Ward, The Bookworm. He was also Cornelius in the original Planet Of The Apes movies. He also voiced Mr. Soil in A Bug's Life. May he rest in peace!
RW: @1:20 surprisingly i know who did that type of art none other but the famous splatter himself Jackson Pollock was made famous for producing art from splatter's of paint.
As someone else said, Ye Olde Classic art was meant to represent reality but modern art is crazy looking stuff. You saw how in old school works, The Chameleon still looked normal, but the modern art pieces messed him up. Yes, he's a villain, but in light of how the new stuff contorts and distorts him, he had the right to abhor it.
They did a really good job animating him in all these different painterly styles!
Agreed.
Sure did
I'm impressed at how they managed to recreate all the works of into animal form.
@@shawnwarrynn8609that too!
This and Greg were always my favorite episodes . Chameleon was always so cool to me
So many great references to art, from the impressionists to Jackson Pollock
Everybody's a critic.
Thank you for posting this. That modern art breakdown scene was living rent free in my mind and I wanted to watch it so bad. So thank you ❤

RW:Everyone’s a Critic, that line never gets old and SS has a good eye for art when catching Chameleon.

In a world filled with bananas taped to walls and AI-generated art pieces, this aged way too well.
be lucky Chameleon didn't enter the H.R. Giger wing of the art museum
Why?

Irony in literal art form.
Chameleon's hatred for Modern art has aged like wine
Indeed.
Fine wine, if you ask me.

It creeped me too. But the idea of movement in distorting his image to match the image was kinda creepy in a way I can’t fully explain

This came out before NFTs were a thing. And I am sure he wouldn't survive them.
I think Chameleon's voice was Roddy McDowall.
Indeed it was
A legend of cinema and voice over.
Chameleon is arrested
His sentence is part of an artwork made by Secret Squirrel.
I thought that Tom Kane was voicing him.

Why does Chameleon not like modern art?
It drives him mad.
He can't blend in it & it corrupts his form.
The multiple angles and viewpoints cause his body to twist and deform.
