Yesterday was really a sad day for everyone, but I wanted to pay tribute to Roger soon and not wait too long to produce a first video. For this one I wanted to focus a bit on his prime and before, because we saw a lot of times so many moments of the 2010’s decade. Roger’s career is too big to be able to show every important moments so I prefered to chose some. It really is a video of a fan who want to thank one of his chilhood’s hero. In the next months I will start to edit a big project about Roger, but surely in 2023, that’s why I wanted to make a little video before.

Absolutely the best emabassador of the game of tennis. Yes there will be other greats that are coming through the ranks but to have this much admiration from all of his tennis rivals and ppl who just PALING LOVE HIM LIKE I DO (still wear all your gear RF and have been using every one of your rackets as you changed through the years) and will until I can no longer play. I am 65 this last sept 25 and I keep going because of you. Still playing singles against 30-50 year olds and beat them regularily and playing more doubles now.
You are the G.O.A.T. in my opinion not because of all the titles because they will always be surpassed at some point but because of WHO YOU ARE AS A PERSON...... you are the BEST
Have a great retirement....you deserve to do some other things now as you have given us and the sport so much joy over the years.

It was once believed that Nadal had a edge over Federer, but actually Nadal's prowess on clay was simply unrivaled and Federer only lost once against Rafa on Grass. Surprisingly, they have played 40 matches on the tour, but not even once at the US Open. I think in the end it was Djokovic who repeatedly got the better of Federer mentally, defeating him time and time again over a span of 10 years, particularly on surfaces that favoured Federer. This happened despite Federer's stronger overall performance in some of that matches and multiple match point opportunities in several Grand Slam matches. Federer lost his last 6 GS finals against Djokovic, the US Open in 2010, 2011, 2015, and Wimbledon in 2014, 2015, and 2019. Especially Wimbledon 2019 was mentally destroying for Federer. This title would have been pure redemption. On a brighter note, Federer managed to turn the tables on Nadal during the 2017 to 2019 seasons, most notably with his triumphant comeback in the 2017 Australian Open final, his first victory over Nadal in a Grand Slam since 2008 and his first GS in five years. Regrettably, Federer could never repeat such a feat against Djokovic. Winning the ATP Finals in 2019, especially after defeating Djokovic in the group phase, could have provided some solace. However, a persistent knee issue thwarted his pursuit.

And again it's crazy to see that you as well recognize the most important lines in interviews and have the same ideas in terms how to use them for a tribute. I had the same thing planned for the US Open final 2004 and Wimbledon 2008. Now I need to think again, thanks for that! 😂 Hats off to you, great work! What a career.

Just one suggestion: Yesterday after the match concluded, the Laver Cup organisers played "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay when Federer was hugging all his teammates & acknowledging all the crowd support. It just felt so perfect & fitting to be honest. Having known the lyrics of the song, I couldn't stop my tears at all. The moment coupled with that song hit right in the feels. I think you can use that as the ending song of your tribute.

Like Roger in 2017-2021 was some bridge to times of Sampras and Agassi (he defeated both) and in 2017-2021 for his youngsters rivals (like Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime) he was just connection to times of even more previous champions.
There will be some day, i think almost 20 years after 2023, that Felix Auger-Aliassime would be that bridge to new youngsters, because he played against Roger (2021 Halle) and defeated him, so he would remind people of great Roger (nota bene they are stricte 19 years difference players, Roger 1981.08.08, Felix 2000.08.08).

Mostly untrue. Also, Novak himself has never had anything but respect and admiration for the great Roger Federer.
