I was lucky enoough to be at this show, my first David Lindley live experience. Mind blowing. I recall David talking about them bringing string instruments from the California dryness to the humidity of New Orleans and watching them warp and become unusable. Didn't stop them from playing one helluva show in the Louisiana rain. RIP David...

@@timothylewis2450 That happened in the '90s (year?) when they played a benefit at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara for a progressive candidate for the 5-member governing board overseeing that county. Kenny Loggins also played a set. It was a memorable show. And I was lucky to be in SB for a conference for work that week and got in to see it! (and ran into the Mullicans there, Ry's neighbors and old family friends)

RIP David Lindley! Remember getting told to sit down when you made us want to dance at the Golden Bear way back in the 1980's Counted 16 shows from my ticket stub jar, that I attended. Lindley is the slide guitar king; not to mention the master of an incredible collection of stringed instruments! Thanks for rocking all those years; and all those songs; and concerts!

Can't say for sure, but back-up singers are Terry Evans, Bobby King, maybe Arnold McCuller or Willie Green. They worked w/ Ry a lot over the years. Check this concert out if you haven't heard it before:

Ry is one of the most unappreciated guitarists and has been for a long time. He can play any style of music at a very high level. Lindley is right up there with Ry. Linda Ronstadt called him the best guitar player she ever saw.

But it's goddam enjoyable! What everybody can say: This is the slide guitar player I like most! Might be Duane Allman or Sonny Landreth or Derek Trucks or Ry Cooder or ...

The deceased Nevilles and their living brothers could really funkify the virus. Dr. John would come up with something that would desitively knock me out. And Paul Barrierre, Lowell George, Ritchie Hayward, and the rest of Little Feat woulld slay all of us coming up with the "Wuhan Boogie."
