  • This is an English translation for the Awe Hymn of goddess Isis from the texts of her temple at Deir el Chelouit.
The Hymn was first published by: S. Rüter, Habt Ehrfurcht Vor Der Gottheit Nn: Die Snd-n-hymnen in Den Agyptischen Tempeln Der Griechisch-romischen Zeit, Gladbeck, 2009.
Please consider that the orchestra chose separate sentences from the original hymn and composed them into the current version.
The full texts were revised with orchestra by Prof. Maisra Abdallah, the Professor at the Faculty of Archeology, Cairo University.
The Translation of the video is made by Mr. Mina Samy Fareed, Lecturer Assistant at the Tourism Guidance Department, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Fayoum University.

It’s Like I was in exile my whole life and have just stepped foot in my homeland for the first time in forever. this tune heals my soul more than words can express. It feels empowering yet humbling.
We lost ourselves when we abandoned our Egyptian identity and now we are only starting to retrieve it. Let the whole world be REMINDED of the glory of Egypt.
This song, like the whole parade, gives a whole new meaning to ‘eternity’ which is the continuity of the Egyptian civilization. Let me explain. Ancient Egyptians might have mummified their bodies and left monuments that stand the test of time for the purpose of having them in a second life. But, the day of the parade, they come to life and they are treated with the same respect and ceremonies they would as if they were alive today as kings and queens. Art is recreated with traces of the past and influences of the present which interplay in a beautiful harmony that showcases the strong accents (trademarks, not language I mean) in music that are purely Egyptian. The mummies and the monuments are a witness of the everlasting glory of the Egyptian civilization. There’s more where that came from❤️

@Nads _. I wish I could remember all the names of places! We were on a “When the Drummers Were Women” and percussionist tour with our teacher, the late Layne Redmond, who wrote the book of that title. We all went crazy buying drums in music stores on Mohammed St. in Cairo! Some highlights were drumming with our riqs, tambourines and frame drums, in the temples. And the children singing, clapping and drumming in the parks and in the boats. Nubian Drummers accompanied us in the felucca boat. We traveled along the Nile. We visited Dendera and other temples, hard to recall all names, in fact I just pulled the box of photos and notes out of storage. Our Egyptologist guide was quite famous, and had the key that unlocks doors... We were permitted to sit and meditate at the feet of the Sphinx, and hold ceremony inside the Great Pyramid. I’ll be compiling photos and video footage to create a montage this year, I look forward to that. Thank you for asking! Wonderful memories! 😊🙏❤️☀️🌹

Ancient Egypt captured my heart long ago. The grasp upon my heart is so tight, I will never be free. I long to go to the land of the Pharaohs and gaze in awe as the story unfolds in my memories. Isis will give birth to the morning, and on a camel I will ride, to say a prayer from the great pyramids to God above. I will marvel at the beauty of the great Sphinx. I will try to read the message carved into the stone in hyroglifics. But I cannot let myself go there until the biggest museum in the world is finished. Then I will gaze upon the bust of Queen Nefertiti. Oh how I long for Egypt. My heart is there forever. When I look around, I see so much beauty on the faces of the Egyptians. Oh, how I love you Egypt!
