Michael is back! A drum hero of mine and our time. Do you think that the note of the kick could be controlled to make melodies? In a similar way to the pitch shift of the TD-6 or the sequential notes of the TD-20? So the Zones you have on the kick are set to velocity? It’s amazing to see! The Trapp lead melody on the toms is so mint. Tama50th comming up next year, hope we get another video soon!
Thanks for the appreciation and question! Yes, you can also control/trigger melody notes by alternating the velocity or within the different kick zones. There will definitely be more videos on several subjects coming soon. Cheers!!
so an advantage is to use a pancake drumkit with at least 16-inch drums to have enough space to plat well within each zone? if the drum was like 8 inches it would be very difficult to hit the exact zone when ever one needs I think, right?!
If this sounds like a silly question bear with me, I am 63 and only started playing again 6 months ago after a 15 year break😆can you set this up so that if you hit the instruments gently, they would not trigger, but only when you hit it harder according to the dynamic level you applied? Is there a very simple way to do that? I have started to attach triggers (2 box) to acoustic drums and LOVE the lush sonic possibilities, but it would be great if there was a way to be able, in real time, to flow naturally and "organically" between the acoustic and the esample signals. If that makes any sense?😃
You would adjust the Sensitivity and Threshold settings on what ever your control device is. Threshold (Essentially the gate set on how hard you need to hit before the trigger says okay Ill play a note). Start at a very low level and increase it until you find the right setting. The key to threshold is keeping it as low as possible without running into any mistriggering Sensitivity (The sample’s volume based on how hard you strike the drum) Reduce the sensitivity to get a much wider dynamic range if you’re a hard-hitting drummer. And just like threshold, you want to keep the setting as low as possible without running into double triggering or mistriggering
You had me with that opening groove!
Haha thanks! - another cool one in the last third of the video. Special kick action:))

You can choose the number of zones for each playing surface between 1 to 7. So for smaller toms, I would go for 2 or 3.

Loved you in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey. Do you still play bass and rap at all?
That's a nice G-Kapur snare drum
Yes, I love it!
Do you have to have a extra have an extra interface to use into pa
Nope! The EVANS Portal Interface that comes with the Sensory system has 6 Outputs and 2 Headphone outs so it is usable just about anywhere!
This is pretty cool.
Not as cool as SquarElectric at Razzmatazz back in the day.
But still pretty cool.
The boss Come black👍👍👍💪🤟
Hello hello! Thanks!
Straf Michael
Dankje Bob!
$1000 to trigger 3 drums. Way too expensive.
As almost everything, as soon as you write "for drums" over it. :/
