I left my hometown, lived with difficult people, and felt restricted by a challenging community. I went through extreme loneliness, panic attacks, and a fear of heights. On the day of my Saturn Return, I saw a trauma therapist who suggested I stay with her for 3-5 years, but I found her unsympathetic. I left her office, bought hiking gear, and spent 7 weeks walking a pilgrimage in Spain. After that, my life truly began-with challenges, opportunities, conflicts, money, hunger, integrity, scandals, and recognition. My Saturn Return woke me up to life.

Uranus square my Moon, opposed my Mercury/Neptune, the Mars Rx going through my 7th, and Pluto trine my Venus which rules my MC, 5th & 6th houses, Chiron transiting my 4th. Perfect Storm, the transits weren't so difficult the first imt. This was helpful love your videos with Rick!
that exactly happened to another aries 16 too, to myslf! so I said and i felt literally that I went to bed on the 5th as a "crazy Aries" and woke up on the 6th as a balanced Libra! it was overwhelmingly great, and I celebrated the 5th and the 6th, being born in Europe with an 8 hrs advanced sunrise!!! Oh we Aries do love ourselves don't we?!
Happy belated Solar Return Rick! Btw, have you heard that Saturn returns are notoriously more difficult for people with night charts? Chris Brennan has given many examples on The Astrology Podcast. So it follows that Mars returns are more difficult for people with day charts, though Mars returns are much shorter (absent an rx pattern of course). Sect matters! ;) xo And then there are natal planets your natal Saturn is in aspect to, meaning transiting Saturn will also be aspecting those planets at the same time as your Saturn return, so each chart will be colored potentially very differently. My own two Saturn returns put me through some rough changes that ultimately landed me where I needed to be, neither of which places were anywhere I'd previously considered moving to (i.e. not intuitive or logical choices). Saturn knows best? But then Saturn transits my Jupiter right after it transits my Saturn. Two friends born within a year of me have had similar experiences. COVID was a big factor driving this too. And then... sometimes it can take a long time for our prayers to manifest. :)

It seems to me sometimes people overstate the Solar Return chart by not focusing clearly on its relevance very specifically to solar development. You can't look at *any* return chart as just a general life experience for the duration of its cycle, but it's even easier to fall into that trap with the Sun because of its inherent centrality in the astrological personality. Any planetary return is very much about that very specific part of you. A SR happens only within the context of the experience the natal Sun in particular is engaged with this lifetime. Sometimes that is part of what feels consciously front and center that year, and sometimes other transits dominate someone's experience of being an individual person, with complex nuances and layers beyond just their Sun position, rather more. Thanks for giving me a place to engage with these ideas and work through some of my own here. 🙂
