    Nice duck from the drone! When you listed all the things Eystrahorn had to offer, I got a weird grin on my face. Those mountains are so gorgeous you don't need to take an image. It will burn itself in your mind. That being said, your image at 13:56, holy mother of dragons.

    Stunning and unbelievably beautiful how God made this earth. Mads you capture the beauty of Iceland better than anyone I have seen and you have done such a fantastic job in your narration and your recommendations for the best locations and times to photograph. If you ever do a hard cover book I want it for sure. Amazing job once again!!

    Wow Mads! Speechless! What an epic series of shots! Iceland was on my bucket list and I visited for the first time last November..... I must go back, that feeling of raw nature I have not felt anywhere else. Your Faroe series inspired us to plan our holiday there this year, can't wait! Many thanks for the fantastic and inspiring photos and film!

    After having seen you standing at the very edge of cliffs, the tension in your voice when the tide comes in made me smile. The VLOG is great, one of the best you made I think. So is the music in the end. Pictures-wise, I particularly like your long exposure and the last sunset shot. You make an amazing ad of the location as well, which I hope will not lose its peaceful
    and remote atmosphere. Thanks Mads!

    This is the first of the Iceland series that the 4K footage really shines! The drone shots are simply amazing! As far as capturing the waves, I think your style is my favourite, it makes them look as brush strokes, so delicate but so powerful. Just stunning job, man!

    This looks like a massive location. I'm glad that you too share the same nerves for flying the drone above sea. I was at Old Harry Rocks a couple of weeks ago and I just couldn't find the guts to fly the thing far above sea, maybe because I'm still a novice I suppose. Great stuff Mads !

    Mads, your vlogs just keep getting better and better, if that is possible! One question please. You don’t appear to use polarising filters for seascapes as often as some photographers. What are your thoughts on this please?

    What makes the mountain of Eystrahorn so special is that it's nowhere near a "regular" mountain. It's not a volcano - where lava has erupted out of the ground to create a mountain. Nor is it a regular glacier carved mountain where glaciers have carved mountains out of platous, comprised of layers of lava, as most of the mountains of the eastfjords, There you just see all the different layers of strata in the hill sides.
    Eystrahorn hower doesn't have any layers of lava in it. Eystrahorn is a very special mountain. It is actually an exposed solidified magma chamber. So this piece of mountain was actually some km below the ground when it was formed. And now, as this is part of the oldest land in Iceland, numerous ice ages and its glaciers have simply removed all the topsoil from this place and exposed the solidified magma chamber. Truly one of the most wonderous places in Iceland in my opinion.

    You mentioned using crampons for the slippery rocks but I'd say that could almost be more dangerous. Look for hiking boots with vibram soles. I have them for my work boots where could be dealing with oily surfaces and have never had an issue. If I can walk on a slippery pipe and not slip they will work for a rock for sure since there will at least be something for the boots to grip to. I believe the Vibram TC5+ soles will give you the best traction. They should also handle ice pretty well.

    Incredible episode again Mads and looking at the scenery, I can appreciate why you and Nigel stayed there for 14 hours. The images from the ground and air were breathtaking and spectacular. Can I ask what filter system you use and do you buy different filters for each of your lens or do you use the step up ring system?

    • @MadsPeterIversen
      @MadsPeterIversen  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      scotty4418 thanks a lot as always! Yeah sure! I have a Haida circular 10-stop and breakthrough circular 6-stop. Both 82mm and having a step-up ring from 77mm-82mm. My 82mm polerizing filter broke before Iceland so I only have an old 77mm pol at the moment :)
