I wanted to do a video today to show you an awesome, inexpensive new way from Neck Illusions to customize your favorite guitar or bass, without having to spend a fortune to create something truly unique!
I'm sure many of you have seen inlay decals before, and while some of the available designs are cool, a company called Neck Illusions have taken the inlay decal idea and absolutely catapulted it to the next level!

What if I want just the decal instead of changing the entire neck of the guitar
He can do whatever you want I got a skull design that originally had a green biohazard sign and I didn't like it I just wanted the black and gray skulls and he took that biohazard sign out and then he gave me a huge decal to cover my headstock. And if you order something he will email you and ask you what you want exactly so the short answer is yes he can print you out a decal of anything you want if you find the image and email it to him he will print it out for you
I'd rather have actual inlays.... how would these react to sweat anyway?

Nothing wrong with that at all... I've had mine for 10 years as well and many nicer guitars have come and gone in that time! They're awesome guitars!

Cool vid, thank ya Matt! I've wondered about these "inlay stickers" for some time. Looks pretty good -- especially on the "Liquid!" They don't offer one exactly as I'd like, any more (models have become more limited) but I may build one quite like it, from GFS parts, and would certainly consider a "tree of life" or "barbed wire" design. Thanks again.

Could you show the difference between the matte and gloss finish? Does the matte look too dull? Does the gloss look too shiny?

I oil my fret board can I still do this with these decals
I oil my rosewood fretboards as well -- these will adhere to them just fine as long as the oil has had sufficient time to dry.

I like the inlay patterns but I don't like that they cover the fretboard all the way up. I have used single inlay decals that are OK but they don't change the look of the wood.

Check my new groove fretboard design! I’d like to add a metallic inlay in the grooves. Thanks my grooves add an extra x note to pulloffs to create a triplet rather than a 2 note sequence

Cheap or expensive makes no difference -- that SX of mine gets more gigging time than any of my other axes!
I have them on a $600 ASG Walking Dead Zombie Burst limited edition guitar, a hotrodded Ibanez, an ESP, and I'm going to put one on my hotrodded Jackson Dinky. It'll be awhile before I put them on my bass because I play bass strings for a long time before they go dead but once they go I'll put them on my bass too. If you also happen to known anything about graphic design Neck Illusions has custom templates. I'm a designer that works in 3D and you can really make a guitar pop if you know what you're doing. 300dpi, not 72!

Yeah I got some of these they're really cool the guy even emailed me and made sure that I was getting exactly what I wanted I even took a design and then took some things out of it so I would just have a skull look so you can pretty much put whatever you want even if you see a design but you don't like something little about it he can take it out if I had more than one guitar that I could do this with I would have bought a lot of them but I only have an acoustic and then a dean from hell and it already looks badass the way it is . He also threw in some free stuff I'm not sure if that was because it took a little longer to get to me then it was supposed to or if he does that with everybody but he gave me a free headstock wrap in a couple of cool looking K stickers that I requested. I really couldn't say enough good things about this company , and no they're not paying me to say this and this is not a fake message they just blew me away with the customer service, the way he kept emailing me at least once a week to let me know what was going on

I bought one and I do not recommend. The company was very reputable. They immediatly took back my product and refunded me. However I bought one based on your review, and I was so disappointed, because the sticker looked like it was a PICTURE of an inlay transposed on glossy paper. It had no depth, sparkle or sheen to it, and I just expected it would have an abalone sheen to it when it arrived and it did not. It just looked like someone put a picture of an abalone inlay on a sticker. Really disapointed with the quality.
That's interesting to hear. It's been many years since I did this video -- I wonder if the company has changed hands, or they're using different materials now?

Doesn’t happen.. I have had them on for 5 years and come off cleanly..
