We just had the 70th anniversary of the crash. I'm the historian for the Blackwood Family!
Just after WWII, the "boys" came home, what a historic time in the history of the USA. A time of "why not?" try it, maybe it'll work. An exhuberant nation of "we paid the price-and a great price was paid. The survivors of that conflict and the large numbers of new technologies came together to celebrate. What a country! God was still important to most Americans. Thanks to the Blackwood Brothers.

The autopilot automatically disconnected due to turbulence, as it is designed to do. .
I believe autopilot gets shaky at 23,000 feet. Thanks for the visit. Please comback soon. Combine mountain area up and down drafts, bad weather approaching and possible pilot unused to all of the above. Mack Allred

@@MackAllred-qt1uy Have ever flown one/ The PC-12 is certified to 30,000 feet. The automatic pilot must be proven to certified ceiling. Everything gets shaky in turbulence, starting with the pilot, auto or human. Please do not speak beyond your depth.
you are so wrong with everything that you are saying you do not need to make false statements like you were making. I just won the Alabama State archives Fellowship on the plane crash that killed RW Blackwood and Bill Lyles. Everything that you have stated on this crash has been incorrect. It was a faulty electronic trim malfunction. It was in Clanton Alabama. The group owned three planes. One plane was a piper and the newest plane was a beach craft 18. They weren’t going to another event. They were headed home after this event. The author Godfrey talent show was 14 days earlier. You need to Check your facts!!!!!!!! The Blackwood family takes this very personal. You do not need to put up more videos. If you are not going to fact, check everything.
Piloting any multi engine plane is a real accomplishment which requires using prior training and split second judgement. In a "go around" situation, every thing including the wind strength and direction, wheels down or up(increases drag), and a multitude of other factors contribute to the pilots' ultimate responsibility for making the decision to try it again. Trim tabs may have been the final contributing thing that caused the crash, but most crashes involve more than one thing. I respect the Blackwood family.
