Looked like a great day! The area you got that second larger model bass is where I’ve caught most of my biggest. I never thought of trolling, but they’re such aggressive predators, using large plastics with straight braid and a faster retrieve they really hammer
Yea it can get annoying, but I try to troll right above that eel grass. If I see a lot of eel grass on the surface, I stop trolling and just start casting.
Nice rig man, trolling on it seems simple but in between the boats and stuff do you ever happen to get caught up? That was my first concern when I saw it but good stuff tight lines !🎣
If there’s a lot of boat movement on the water, I don’t troll. Usually I go out early mornings so not too much going on. Only way I would get caught is if a boat gets too close to my troll line.
@@outherefishing great vid! It’s like down here in San Diego the people will cut right next to you even knowing you’re trolling and I kayak fish so I don’t even bother trolling too much. I never thought I’d see a Hali hit a Crankbait too. Very nice!
damn! those are monsters for Balboa!!

Nice, I’ll try that next time!
Cool action! Every time I troll Newport Harbor with a crankbait or A-Rig, I get a lot of eel grass.

@@DavyHookedUp thanks! I’ve gotten hit multiple times from halibut on this specific crank bait. Usually when I’m trolling 15 feet of water.
Use a leader. And loop knot? Or
I hate to ask but the setup is so so sick. Do you pay monthly payments on that? Jet skis are so freakin expensive now.
Yes I financed it, I see a couple selling for like 13k on Facebook marketplace.
@@outherefishing right on thanks for the reply, cool to catch them on a trolling crank! Makes me think I may need to up my retrieve speed
