Nice little session in tight. Those are all my same zones! My best times I’ve had are high tide with lots of movement in shallow on the eel grass. Spinner bait is perfect for that although I use 6# strictly in the bay so I opt for the Neckbreaker 3/8oz.
Man never again am I kayak fishing barefoot and in shorts. Hit HH for a 3hr sesh yesterday and got fried, never been so sunburned in my life lol. Great vids.
That lot off of Dover the you launched off of, is that open to the public for anyone to launch there. I have driven by there many times wondering if it was open to the public.
That was cool! Great day for Newport! I’ve never caught 1 fish in saltwater with a spinner bait and I’ve tried. I’d like to hear about that retrieve where you reeled but kept putting it in freespool, letting it drop. Maybe that’s the spinnerbait secret. I should also try sizing up my presentations. I rarely use anything over 1/4 oz. on 8# test in the bay, trying to scratch out some numbers but not sure that’s the play.
Hey George! I like the 1oz and 3/4oz spinnerbaits for the bay. the Blades create a lot of lift for the bait and the heavier size keeps the bait right above the eel grass. I click the reel into free spool to keep contact with the tops of the grass. Hope this helps!
Not many people eat them. It’s difficult to catch a legal spotted bay bass which makes for a fun challenge. Mostly catch and release. But I’m sure they taste good
9:09 wheelhousing that thing around hahaha. Yerrrrrbit
Fishing deep in there💪🏽! Nice Lane!

It is open to the public. It’s supposed to close at 10pm I believe, but I haven’t had any issues.
@@LaneKilian ok, thank you for the info. I’ll go check it out!

Nice fish. I love fishing tight in the docks with my kayak. What setups did you use in this video?
Warbaits Premium Rods - 80H / Bates Reel
Is the spinnerbait best used as a constant slow retrieval rate?
Yes most of the time. They like to eat it on the sink as well.
What was that bronze baitcaster?
Bates Reels
Are those spotted bass good eating?
