Man that is one efficient crew. I still don’t understand how you don’t have more subs. Great content, and editing. I watched the excavator maintenance video where you explained the white trays you were using and how you were a biology teacher. I always wondered how you knew so much about insects, trees and such. You should tell us about how you got into this line or work after working in biology. That’d be interesting.
It's nice to be blessed enough spare equipment for when something goes down. I think I would have gone with a full size channel drain myself over the mini but other than that, the job looks great. People be breaking the rules running on the pool deck in no time. 🙃
That deck looks super...in the beginning when you mentioned redoing the deck I was SO NERVOUS that you were gonna use those other concrete guys that screw everything up ...they half ass everything. These guys did a marvelous job.
That was a big job with many different operations going on because it's a pool. It turned out very nice looking. Looks like your equipment took a beating from hydraulic leaks to drone crashes. Stuff happens but you took care of it quickly. Great job overall.
Hey Shawn, It’s Leah. Great footage with some real fantastic asmr around the pouring and brooming (is that even a word?) of that concrete . The before and after is incredible. Keep them coming boss. I can’t tell you enough how much I have learned from watching your videos and the impact, they have had on strategies for shedding water away from our own home!
Wow, Great job Shawn! that came out perfect. On a side note, i'd love to see more of that large parking lot, i know it's difficult to film, but maybe some broad view before, and afters as it progresses. Another great video.
I did take some drone footage at the very start of that project. It's been up and running for months now and I guess I could get back over there with the drone.. Part of the problem is the volvo blew a line, the mustang blew a line, and my bobcat T450 broke a drive belt all on that job. I was several weeks of working in the heat out there.
Nice to see you back Shawn, I sure missed your channel. That turned out fabulous. Sorry to see the drone go down. I'd like to add , that is a Cool house.

Nice wide pool deck. Hard working crew did a very nice job. Surprised no 6x6 wire mesh. For our pool deck, I insisted on a 4" wide strip drain between the house and pool. Length about 70 feet to a 4" schedule 40 drain pipe. Ours was poured late September. We went on vacation shortly after the pour. We returned to find the strip drain filled with water. Not draining and lots of rain predicted. Adjacent to the pool deck is 44 feet of sliding doors with only the threshold to stop a flood into our home. Pool edge 1" higher than the threshold. I spent two days with a powered auger and muriatic acid until I released the concrete plug in the pipe. Also released with the concrete plug was a hose nozzle. I believe the concrete guys knew they clogged the pipe then tried to flush and got their hose nozzle stuck in the pipe.
Paving Stones are a wonderful material for pool decks... As long as they're laid on a properly sloped concrete pad instead of the usual sand pad... Unlike a sand pad, concrete isn't going to unevenly settle or allow water to easily penetrate it to cause problems later on...
Wow that turned out great! I like how everybody helps each other to get the job done. To bad about your drone but it looks like you got it fixed or replaced by the end of the job. At least when the Volvo crapped out on you, it didn’t require a trip all of the way back to the shop to get another replacement.
I would have removed the 1 or 2 paver rows next to the pool coping first so as you were demoing the outside pavers so they could not push the pool coping pavers.
Typically when you have something that can't be touched because it creates problems, the proper way is to remove/cut a border close to it. This means manually removing a line around the pool. Once you have a safe perimeter, you work away from the pool outward. Yes it's tedious. Near the end with the plastic, I was waiting for someone to trip and take a dunk in the pool. :)
As a subscriber. 🫡👍🏻 Mich. & N. Carolina Is in A deep 🥶 freeze. 🥺🤷🏻♂️ I would've put A multiple french drains under the pavers WAY Away & deep big sloping drain . Away towards that field Maybe a dry well. Driveways a slight problem .
I bet that pool has a leak in one of the water lines, which created that deep hole. It's very common, but now hard to fix since it's covered in concrete.
Keep that in mind for an upcoming video! These homeowners called me on a driveway for another house. They had the same pavers and some were loose and they wanted concrete.
Always interesting to see the various jobs. Probably not within the scope of the job, but you mentioned the 1 corrugated pipe a previous contractor put in. I was expecting you to also comment or take a look at the other house downspouts and gutters with regarding to drainage solutions!
What about the equipotential perimeter surface bonding required by NEC 680.26(B)(2)? There should have been a #8 bare copper bonding wire installed around the perimeter of the pool, 18" - 24" from the inside walls, and connected to the other metallic components such as the pool ladders.
What was the solution for the hole? 14:43 I see what looks like piping down there which could be part of the issue. The soil has to be moved by something.
im sorry, but after hearing "concrete guys in a couple hours" all i can think about is 'that's a tight schedule, i hope nothing breaks' but unfortunately it did them concrete guys are a godsend though for helping out

Okay, i thought i had seen another shot somewhere where it was farther along. Great job on the pool deck. I thought the rain drop marks gave it the "poor mans" stamped concrete look😅
