@@paigehansen8944 spicy foods do not cause ulcers its a common misconception. Ulcers are more closely tied to prescription drug use than foods people eat.
@thequietman9820 Can't stress also cause ulcers or am I wrong about that? Also, I have severe Acid Reflux and IBS-C, so can't handle spicy foods 😢. I always tell people it's not my mouth that I'm worried about, it's my stomach and my butt that worries me. 😳😂

nah it wasnt unfortunately, despite being a huge mythical fan. im here for cooking and comedy, not food/spice challenges. in my humble opinion, this idea shouldve stayed in the pitch room.

@@highdefinition450 I'm not saying it's rare. I'm saying it's not a thing that's shown on this channel. Josh is around performers, 'normally trained' chefs, and gamers almost all the time. And he's great with them.
But there is something different about when he's with a 'normal' guy. Shayne Topp from iCarly (and Smosh) has the same thing going on. They are amazing in their normal work/performance environments, but it's a different thing when they get to just bro out.
The chaotic energy between Josh and Johnny was perfect. Big brother/little brother vibes. Especially with Josh blowing snot bubbles 😂

This might be my favorite show concept that I've seen in a while. It was a blast. I feel like it was a low blow for Johnny to insist Josh eat the full pepper, even cutting some off to replace what Josh spit out before just taking a bite of each of the ghost chilis, though.
The production value on this series is top notch. It's a wonder this hasn't been done on television yet. Well done!
I think this should be one of those shows that's uncensored. Just like Hot Ones, seeing their genuine reactions would be so great.

Instead of going spicy again, why not try other flavors, if you plan to make more episodes? Try sour, or bitter, salty even. I think this challenge was an excellent idea and has the potential for so much experimentation.

This was great, I think they should do a rematch some time but mix in not just Mythical judges but potentially someone from the chef's associates as well to not seem biased towards Mythical.

I think this is a good idea but i don't think there's too much of a risk for mythical bias, in fact i think the mythical judges would be more inclined to rate Josh more harshly due to familiarity with him
@teemuaho4807 he's literally their boss. Of course, they are going to have a bias toward him. They gave Josh the win because his was "spicy" when they never said the food had to be spicy. I agree that it came across as bias when their genuine reactions were better with Johnny

23:25 The original Babybel (red package) is an Edam, however they do offer a version of Gouda as well (orange package) and other varieties. With that being said, Edam and Gouda are very similar.
I like this guy. Him and Josh seem to have a really good rapport, there was great back and forth between them. Would definitely like to see him in some more videos.

I think Johnny made what would be a fantastic looking sit down regular burger. Like for when you just want a good burger. But Josh has a penchant for making food an experience that isn't like fine dining, but not as diabetic or artery clogging as most the internet sensations. This was better than cooking shows on netflix lol
I know they went through physical hell but this was a legitimately captivating episode.

Not very sportsman like to be up someone's ass about how much of their pepper they eat, only to throw out half of each pepper of your own that you have to eat.

ikr? he dug up the trash to make them eat the whole pepper , it was funny so its whatever but when it was their turn he just took one small bite and threw the rest of it away.
Same thing when it comes to the judges , they gave josh the win because it was spicy? they didnt say anything about making the sandwich spicy so it seems like mythical bias to me to be honest.
To be honest, there's not much difference in nibbling just a tiny bit of a pepper or eating more, as the heat will be the same regardless. That is unless you eat the pith. This is where the capsaicin is the most concentrated in, which is why Josh suffered much, much more :P

Completely different from each other, literally comparing cherries to apples. The only similarity is it involves spicy peppers in some form.
@@gijaysorez7747 which is the concept of Hot Ones, taking a normal genre of TV and adding the element of being through the lens spice. Hot Ones is an interview/talk show and this is a cooking competition show. Broken down into the raw components it is the same premise, just different genres of TV.

Josh definitely ate a lot more ghost pepper than Johnny. He took two small bites that equaled half a pepper.
Josh ate the pith, while Johnny didn't seem to. It's the spiciest part of the pepper. People often mistakenly think that it's the seeds that contain the heat, but you can safely discard them, you won't lose any heat.

Johnny is gonna have to comeback and get redemption. He ate the LEAST spicy bits of the ghost peppers, hence why Josh was dying and Johnny barely noticed it and said the habanero was more spicy. Simply because he actually consumed the placenta of the habanero and did not consume the placenta of the ghost peppers! Bring him back and let's seeit done again!

Id like a blind judgement. The judges knowing the quality of the ingredients makes it more challenging
I adore this format, and after hearing the call to action at the end for contestant recommendations, I've gotta say Rachael Ray. She is such a fun interview and an amazing down for anything sport (see her Hot Ones episode where she's pounding straight hot sauce, no wings). She was always so fun when she came on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and her squeaky clean public exterior has slowly faded as her television career crescendoed on her own terms. I can guarantee she'd not only be game for this, but be an absolute blast of chaotic energy in this format.
That's a lot of insight into Rachel Ray that I didn't have before, she sounds pretty cool these days!
@@fozgoth She really is a delight. Years ago, my mother was able to meet her at an event and said she was the absolute kindest person in the public eye she's ever met. My mom just went over to say she was a fan and had all of her cookbooks, and planned to walk away. Instead, Rachel told her that she was very appreciative of my mom's support and would love to hear her favorite recipe NOT from one of her own books. Then they talked about lemon chicken piccata for fifteen minutes. Rachel was standing with two people when my mother snuck in to say hi, and Rachel decided to spend time talking with her instead of the two people she was clearly friends with. Such a cool lady.
I love this concept! I’ve always wondered what happened to the awesome chefs that beat the infamous like Bobby and Gordon. Love the peppers too, it’s fun and similar energy to hot ones, please make more!
Only thing i felt odd was when they were introducing the challenge at the beginning, she just said it had to taste the best, not that it had to be super spicy, so having that as a qualifier in the end does feel a bit weird. That being said, i think id want josh's more anyways, just on a brioche indtead.
they probably liked them both fairly equally but the other guy didn’t really follow the rules, which was to make a spicy cheeseburger. so obviously josh would win if he didn’t even make it spicy

The reason why the ghost pepper was easier than the habenero is because the spice is in the ribs and seeds of the pepper so eating the tip of the pepper with those little bitty bites is pretty much just eating a bell pepper. I think that this concept would be really good to do with sour things.

It is amazing that they were able to talk after eating the pepper, while cooking at the same time.
Mans had the saltiest look on his face when he realized Josh brought his own judges on his own game show and won the first episode.

This was a great new concept. Not just the spice wars, but having the competition be at the same time like traditional cooking competition shows. The personalities really shine during crunch time, like in the recent videos where they only have 15 minutes.
Also, props to the editor/post prod team. The editing and music choices were great for the vibe.
This was a super fun video. Thanks for the idea. I love spicy food, and... not going to lie, that grilled-cheese patty melt looked freaking amazing.
