hey , thanks for your video. you are right , the primary and secondary are SUPER unclear to use. definitely Mackie needs to realease a diagram of the signal flow. so fare here is what I figured out: secondary trrs incoming signal(s) goes to chan 5/6, secondary trrs outgoings works but you cant deal with the level and there is a huge buzz when using it, so not so usefull. Primary trrs incoming signal has its own level ("1 level") above fx, goes directly to to the main and you can't pull it out (!) you cant listen to the primary trrs in the headphones only, it has to go to main. primary trrs outgoing signal works fine, the level switch is definetley usefull to adjust to your phone or camera input level. what is special about this system is the main out is not to be considered as a monitor out, you cant plug your monitors to the main out, it's a mix out actually. this is why there are two more outputs (oddly named mix 1 and mix 2) to use as monitor out, spaker out and so on.
hi elliot, great video!! i agree with you completely with this unit not having an interface feature..the secondary analog outs maybe used for this purpose i think... i believe this unit not having panning on any of the channels was designed to work great with live streaming social platform such as Tiktok Live, Bigo Live etc...apps that uniutlizes the TRRS ins or adaptors that only accepts mono mic inputs and stereo outputs in/out mobile apps that allows you to interact with viewers by guesting them onto your mobile stream in real time video chat format.. with that said the Mackie MobileMix cost way too much for that purpose alone...the battery pack option with effects is a great feature...but can be accomplished with other less costing brand units with same purpose such as Maono units ...the MaonoCaster AME2 can serve the same purpose with interface feature and cost a lot less...or for even lesser cost the USB V8 Live External Sound Mixer Board work great with older mobile phones (although sacrificing audio quality if used to record on) ..
Thanks for watching, this one is due for a followup. You are correct that smartphones can be picky about stereo/mono and on top of it instagram live encodes at 64mpbs mono. I'm interested in seeing how the maono units work just for fun. In the meantime I got a Yamaha AG03MK2 on a warehouse deal from Amazon and it is phenomenal.
can you clarify what you mean by using it with a gaming console? for starters it does not have a USB audio interface in it similar to what the focusrite series boxes are.

could this be used for console such as ps5 or xbox?
