OC means open circuit, not 0°C. That means the connection between the display and your sensor is not complete. That would either be a failed sensor or broken wiring.

Simple to do, and have done way way harder. But still needed to know where it was. Thank you.

I have the Open Circuit error on my 2010 Tahoe. I replaced the temp switch and it did not fix the problem.
My next task is to check the wires and see if I get continuity down to the switch. I'm going to short them and the mirror should say SC. If it doesn't then there is a break in the wire(s).

My temp is off by about 8 degrees. Do I need to replace the sensor or can it be calibrated? Thanks.

I hope it's the same for my 2003 Chevy S10. There seems to be no videos for my S10

I have done everything this video shows but as soon as I put in the new sensor the temp gauge went to -31 and I can not get it to work simply plug and play as you have showed? any ideas? I even went back to the old sensor that was working but just randomly displaying "Ice Possible" and now that one no longer works either.

Hi, I have a 7-pin Gentex GENK21A Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror w/Compass & Temp. I had replaced the 7-pin connector once before due to a Open Circuit 'OC' error code for the temp. I am now getting this same error code for the temp. The Compass works fine. I checked for loose wires (4) on the back of the mirror and everything is ok and even pressing in on the wires did not make the temp display. I checked for continunity at both ends of the wiring harness with the ignition on and no continunity. Also, no continunity checking the temp probe by itself off of the vehicle. I had called a local dealer and he claims in 20 years he's never had a temp sensor go bad. Any suggestions???

Sorry to see those clip plugs broken off Nathan, needle nose pliers, or panel puller tools would have worked better by previous owner, or mechanic

So, you're sitting in the sun. The sensor is 4" under the hot hood and reads 80 degrees, but it's actually 50 degrees. Or, you're riding down the road, the sensor (in the grill) is reading 10 degrees from the 50 mph wind factor, but it's really 35 degrees. How are you better off? You still have to check your phone for the ambient temp? q-:

Everything is ok. They put the sensor in a bad place above the radiator...lol...but when you start to drive, fresh air comes in and corrects its self temp wise. I see this on a lot of autos.

Wind chill doesn't change the temperature. Wind chill is only how it feels to the human body. It is best that you leave the meteorology to the pros and stick to your day job.

Who are the four people that didn’t like this video. Really did he not fix it the way you wanted it to be fixed , did he not hold the camera the way you wanted him to hold the camera. The video was informational as it should be

Dude. You really didn’t show where the sensor goes?? You just pointed around at stuff saying there’s a hole in there. This video doesn’t help me at all. I’m trying to actually see where the sensor goes.
