Had to find this today after chris moyles explained it on radio X this morning. Fucking funny.
In the book "Under Their Thumb" by Stone's associate & journalist Bill German, he describes how Ron Wood & he would make prank phone calls. Ron would check the classified ads for local bar bands looking for a guitarist, & then phone them. When they'd ask what experience he had, he'd say, "well, currently I'm working with the Rolling Stones, & I used to play with the Faces, & Jeff Beck...". He'd get that far & they'd hang up on him, thinking he was some kind of joker or goof, LOL.
And when they found out who it was, they probably said, nah, we want someone who can actually play. Take your bum riffs back to the Stones. Mick Taylor forever.

That loser should change his name to brandon blockhead. Ron's the best: a brilliant musician, talented artist and a great geezer to boot. And, regardless what happened, he still plays in front of 80.000 paying guests every night, whereas blockhead is on Jobseeker's Allowance and signing on every fortnight....who is the fool?
ronnie shit himself without bodyguards and started shouting for vinnie jones,he's the least important member of the stones and would have faded into obscouraty had he not joined them,also no great shakes on guitar
