Sturgia Strong! This Slavic themed faction relies on its powerful axe infantry and the impregnable shield wall formation for strong projectile defense. However they have some quality cavalry in the form of the heavy charging Druzhinnik and even more uniquely it's Horse Raider tree that can allow for a mass of horse skirmishers using throwing weapons that can quickly swarm and harass a large amount of units with a concentrated javelin assault. Last but not least it's archers are solid. They are a modest troop but their skill and equipment is good so having a healthy populated archer unit can be a good boon for your army. Svana best girl by the way.

Anyone who knows anything at all about the mount and blade games knows that Bannerlord's Sturgia is a mix of the Vaegirs (Slavs) and Nords (Vikings) from Warband. People mostly focus on them being vikings because to be frank medieval vikings are more interesting and familiar to most people than medieval slavs. It's also partially a copout by Tale Worlds to not add another culture, like how they decided to have three flavors of Roman and smashed Rhodoks and Swadians into the same faction to make Vlandia, but as an afterthought it's also a nod to the real life origins of Russia, coming from the mix of slavs and the russ vikings.
@@logan3770 no, you are wrong. read the lore. strugians or vaegirs came from the northern mountain. nords came from the sea. and this is reason why they couldn't defeat each other. because "king of Vaegirs was getting support from the mountain, king of Nords was getting support from the sea". at first, nords got only a small land near Vercheg in Warband from an emperor which I don't remember the name of, but they went further. because they took his words "you land on the north" wrongly. northen invasion will be much later after bannerlord. Mateld told about it in warband how they fought against vaegir. Yes , this game has it own history and deep lore

Every Sturgian playthrough is just incomplete without running over the Vlandian horde while smashing their skulls into 2 with a two-handed axe.
Vlandians are cement for roads.
Imagine not running over Vlandians every day... Very cringe ngl.

Despite names like Varcheg and their faction description and the fact that they're a principality ala the ones from modern day Russia that tried to fight off the Mongols, i did not figure out the Sturgians were actually the precursors to probably the Vaegirs till this video.
The tarkov and stalker combination was a surprise but a welcome one
I chose the Sturgians first because I know, while there might be some Nord influence, it’s truly a cheeky breeky Soldier. Also I knew I chose the right one when Svana was the first wife I gotten.
