I don't think the romantic type of love is special, and I think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death.
I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse.
People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.
Romantic relationships are pointless, while platonic relationships are not.

To be honest, I almost have the same opinion based on my previous experiences

Thought that too until I met the guy I married.
We never fight and he is my best friend and partner at the same time. He is also the only person I never need space from. It happens, but make sure your life is full without a partner first. Before, I thought my partner was responsible for making my life better (e.g. more fun, happiness...) and all my relationships were doomed to fail because of it. Bringing myself as a happy and fulfilled person to the table changed everything.

@@jkz9733 Statistically speaking, women are happiest when single and childless in today's times. Also, women can have friends and biological family that they share a life with. We as humans need the presence of other humans in our lives yes. But we can live alone. We don’t need romantic relationships to survive. We do need love and support, but it can be from friends and family. It does not need to be from a romantic partner.
Studies also show that single women are far happier than their married peers, and that married women lose out in career earnings, career trajectory, health, and life expectancy compared to those single peers as well.
Married women live shorter lives, and report lower levels of happiness than women who never marry.
Also, according to many studies, women have higher rates of depression when married. Statistics indicate that single women tend to have the highest life expectancy on average.
