You may have heard the term, but what exactly IS the "identity fabric"?
In this video, Bob Kalka explains what the identity fabric is and how it can help you manage users, their identities and accounts across all the different systems and applications they need access to, and reveals the seven things critical to any identity fabric approach.

This is the type of explanation that brings understanding to Identity, Credential, and Access Management that is misunderstood in the cybersecurity space.

Well Explained.. Zero Trust starts with Identity and hence the real emphasis on why Identity should be properly managed with right tools for consolidation, risk and frictionless experience for end users.

Real thought thumper. Great realtime thinking examples. Great questions to have asked before hand. That is predictive. And innovative. Thanks

So the solution is consolidation and generalization it seems?
Like a password manager, but for “identities”.

I love how you can't reference anything Apple is doing, because they solved this stuff years ago

Actually, the passwordless discussion in here is implemented via using FIDO2 passkeys on iPhones (etc.) to authenticate to virtually any modernized system...so the Identity Fabric allows the capability for Apple devices to participate with the rest of the IT world. So, this does reference things Apple is doing, including the many things they cannot solve by themselves.

You mean Apple solved this stuff years ago as in "passwordless" or "identity fabric for enterprises"? . If we say "stuff" as in support for "Passwordless via FIDO2" support, it is Chrome, FireFox that came ahead and Apple support for FIDO2 came much later. It is well documented and not my opinion. If we say "stuff" as in "passwordless via passkeys", then Apples support of passkeys for iCloud /AppleID started mid last year, not years ago. I am not sure if people out there consider Apple when it comes to contributions to all things Identity, ex: Facebook's OAuth that led to OIDC, or Google's BeyondCorp white paper that lead to ZeroTrust patterns. And then there is SAML that came about from contributors such as Sun Microsystems, Ping and WSFed from Msft. What is the "Apple solved this stuff years ago" that we missed.

Not everyone works at or with Apple. Knowing a thing, like Bob does here, is seeing beyond the surface of Identity Fabric and understand how hundreds of billion dollar tech and mfcg companies use and manage global industry.
Denying access to a test database for a worker in Bangalore b/c the US client contract forbids it is what this video is solving for.
