no shade or shame towards her.. but i think she should have declined and waited for the pack to come out. it would of been a power move. they slapped her in the face with that offer she should of smaked them back. i respect and appreciate she was transparent about it all tho.
i mean, i don't feel bad for her. she makes millions playing this game, between her twitch and youtube. plus thousands of the dollars on the videos with this pack alone. but they're definitely undercutting smaller creators which isn't okay. edit: i see a few comments saying she doesn't make millions. yes she does. she makes about $1.1 mil on her main channel alone. she also has her second channel that has her 3+ hour live streams, in which youtube pays more for watch time. and she makes about $700k a year on twitch. she does make millions. she's just not flashy about it.
@@rummagingchaos simsie didn't say this because she's upset about only getting 100 dollars. She's upset because she was forced to accept being paid, she would have preferred to do the review for free

When we first heard about the free update, we were only aware of the curved pools, eyelashes, and romantic boundaries. But now, there's so much more to anticipate. It's getting even more thrilling!
Basically, $10 a video? This is outrageously disgusting. I know there are content creators in the network who have said they're buying the packs themselves now. But honestly they all should have told EA to (insert swear) themselves and just not done early release videos. Try selling your crap without that, EA.
I mean they were already paid before in form of 40usd gamecode. (Yes legally that's a payment and that's why lilsimsie mentions it every time she does early access videos, otherwise she could get in trouble.)
@@The_Yukki If we're counting the game code as a monetary exchange, the "$10 a video" only increases to $14 a video. And that is NOT good pay to be giving to *big* creators doing promo for them As another commenter said, you either pay nothing or you pay good.
These reviewers who accepted are doing the equivalent of anyone who lets a site/paper/etc publish their article for free - these reviewers are only worth $10 per review, just as those writers are worth null. It ruins their individual worth, as well as sets a poor precedence for others
@@venomander Oh, i'm not saying it's a shit deal. My argument is twofold, a) they got a 10usd raise, b) they were paid before, just people making a big deal out of money vs goods payment.
People shouldn’t be mad at lilsimsie or any other creator for taking this “deal” they should be mad at EA for forcing them to do this bullshit. This doesn’t ruin lilsimsie’s credibility in the slightest for me it just makes me not want to buy the next pack cause of EA’s insatiable greed. Edit: Also, did the people dunking on lilsimsie even watch her video? She had to make this decision while she was in Chicago with her family in the hospital, of course she was going to make a rash decision early under such a high stress situation. And she said she didn't want to be one of the problematic ones who made a huge fuss about it and she only found out after the fact that she could have made a different deal. She straight up said the offer was insulting and it would take a lot more than that to buy her opinion, but considering the situation she was at in the moment and her livelihood possibly being on the line I don't blame her at all for making her choice. I think if she was in a better state of mind she would have made a fuss about it cause she's got a lot of power with EA. I'm not saying she's perfect, I do have my own problems with her reviews, but can people stop dunking on her when she hardly in a situation to think rationally? Dunk on EA for making an insulting offer of 100 dollars. That is a disgusting low amount of money for LILSIMSIE of all people.
That. The fact that she addresses it in her video is honestly a testament to her credibility imo. I feel like if I was a Sims content creator and this happened to me, I would've straight up refused playing and reviewing early access. I understand that those content creators might not want to damage their viewership and that's why some of them took the deal, and I understand even more Kayla's not caring about it in the moment, in the situation where her family member is in a hospital.
Not surprised, but I'm proud of Kayla for speaking out. Realistically they should be paying Kayla's TH-cam rate if they want what's basically free advertising for them, just like every other paid partnership. They purposefully put her between a rock and a hard place because they know she has a huge following that expects early access content so she really didn't have a choice. Fuck EA for taking advantage of the community's loyalty. When is enough going to be enough?
$100 isn't even worth 2 videos when you go into the amount of play time it takes to put together videos and how long it takes to edit them. $100 is even pushing it for 1 video. Especially for channels that are dedicated to promoting your product with million(s) of subscribers that easily can pull 50-100k views a video.
I swear, no one is as greedy as EA. Either pay specific people good money or not pay at all. 100 dollars and early access to a pack is really insulting. I'm really glad Kayla opened about it.
Then you don't know much about corporate America or capitalism or history. Hell even the CEO of Boeing chuckles as he describes their plan to murder plane load after plane load of people, who'd be in line for next CEO, and all $$$$$$$ the bonuses all of them got. That's for their recent MCAS. He sat there in front of America and testified in front of the Senate. Then did a documentary about it. Laughing the entire time. A few truely evil people say their should be less regulation. Because lives and labor of the poor are cheap.
IMPORTANT: Hey just want to clear this up, she is not required to make 10 videos. She IS required to make one gallery post for the $100 and early access. She was saying that during the early access she will probably make about 10 videos and will now need to disclose she was sponsored, just because of the $100 for the gallery post.
I came to say this, we weren't paid to make videos. Only to make a sim and post them on the gallery. It's $100 to make a sim. We do not get financial compensation for our videos.
I heard the same thing. I get that the gallery post is sponsored, so a video relating to that should have been the only one that would require disclosure. The pre-release videos should NOT have been required for disclosure in the contract. That's the scummy bit EA did, not supposedly paying $100 for 10 videos.
It definitely can be very individual how a creator can be affected by 100 dollars, but I think it's worth considering thay what they're officially being paid for is probably not the actual point of intent for EA. Politicians are given money all the time, and it's not officially to make the politician do the donor's bidding, but it's still expected that they will operate in the donor's favour in order to keep getting money from them. That's just basic legal quid pro quo and most donations work this way in US politics. Officially and contractually EA is "paying them to make a sim", but it would make perfect sense if EA also intends to influence the creator with this money to slant more positively when they make content about the pack. Though some may be grossed out by this enough to wanna be harsher in their content because of this, which is still influenced by the money (lol), but they may well not be paid again in the future. 100 dollars isn't much for a sponsorship, so I suspect EA may be "testing the waters" here with something small and seemingly insignificant to see how creators and the player market responds.
I heard deli say she brought the pack today I was surprised because I’m like don’t y’all always get EVERY pack for free?! Now she’s paying for her own pack?! I thought was very interesting…. But there is nothing in life for free 🆓
@@MissOlivia88That’s different from buying it for early access. The early access copy is branded. If EA gave her early access and the $100, that paid for the pack with money back in her pocket.
Deli requested not to be paid the $100 which she writes under her recent vid, therefore she is not making sponsored content for it and has to buy the pack herself.
I can see Temu offering $100 for 10 sponsored videos, but EA? lol, actually it is kinda fitting with their reputation. 😂 What an absolute insult to their creators! They are showing them exactly what they think they are worth. Sigh 😔
That's not sugar baby dynamics. That's catfish dynamics. They had to force premade background stories with randomly assigned characters who don't necessarily suit it, because you can't catfish appearances with the existing mechanics.
EA yet again turns wants to bite off modders. Ebonix did a collab with Dark & Lovely (a BLACK hair care brand) and it is AMAZING. And look at the crap EA is trying to push with their random ass collab. Absolutely not, that’s probably why it’s free, bc it’s already cheap and done better by someone else.
Deli didn’t get paid, she insisted. Then also she has said it’s not worth it the price tag, also she has stated that her early access video was denied for monitization.
Genuinely if they start adding in packs you don’t own to build/buy and cas to taunt you into buying them that will be the last straw for me. I already refuse to buy any packs at full price and even then I’m VERY picky about which ones I purchase. If they keep pushing this FOMO tactic I’m going to stop playing entirely because it’s absolutely ridiculous.
For all the hate that Kayla gets, she is by far the most transparent and "human" out of all the big Simmers. The fact that she told us this, speaks magnitudes about how she really is here for us. :(
Seems like you misinterpreted what she said - the $100 was for a sponsored gallery post and she said she would have made 10+ videos but now she has to put sponsored in all
ea: we'll pay you $100 for 10 videos also ea: lets make our game + all of its dlc's well over $1000 like HUH??? ea is so scummy and its why i havent paid for a pack since werewolves and will continue to NOT PAY for future packs, i dont care.
Sadly you're a minority. The game's been doing very well financially according to wikipedia meaning most people shower EA with moneym Then they complain EA doesn't put effort into the game and the packs.
I am with you I haven’t purchased anything for a few years now. I only get the free stuff they offer. 😢 I don’t see me putting more money since I have purchased like $200+ for packs already and they are still broken.
To be honest I fell asleep on the livestream lol so I watch the simmers version instead. As far as EA paying simmers so little is an insult which is crazy they need to get it together $100 my car takes 75 dollars in gas like get real kudos to Kayla
ive seen like 1 or 2 people upset that kayla didnt try to push back but like.. why?? she was already in an emotionally vulnerable place, as someone that just lost my grandfather this past january i get firsthand that you aren't gonna be making the most sound decisions or have the fight in you that you would on a good day i actually think its incredibly admirable of her to try and correct this after the fact, AND expose ea for their borderline con artist bs (which i dont wanna blame them for putting her in that place at a rough patch, it just lined up badly and ended up being a horrible coincidence) _AND_ turning it around and promoting a charity that i would be more than happy to donate to if i could safely afford it rn as far as i care that's just 1 step back, 2 steps forward
Lilsimsie is one of the few creators who I don’t see as kissing EAS boots like she obviously genuinely likes the game, she seems primarily to be a build person so it makes sense! And she’s young enough not to really have had the whole experience from all previous games so she comes off genuine! My bigger issue is simmers who will complain but continue to buy all the packs (thinking one day one will give the game back its charm or make it less broken) like just stop buying them then and maybe EA will realize they aren’t doing good enough I stopped buying them awhile ago it’s not hard! As far as new packs and improvements etc I genuinely don’t think there can ever be enough to make it a good life simulator not only is it too empty and safe, it’s too buggy it crashes to much and there’s too much for them to fix especially when they keep adding more! Also there’s the fact that what was once 1 pack is now 4 it’s a rip off! And despite so many packs it still lacks the charm of the others and there’s not enough packs in the world to fix that because EA doesn’t want to fix it imo!
I know it's not great that they are forcing this payment on them, but there has to be some legal reason behind it in my mind. It's not like this huge amount of money. Well not to most of them I suppose definitely not for a commercial or a sponsorship. $100 is nothing when it comes to those. I'm glad Kayla spoke out. I'm glad Kayla spoke out. I just also think there has to be some kind of legal reason as to why it's being forced on them and they can't even say no.
@@TheDawnofVanlife It's not for ten videos. It's for ANY video/content she makes while using early access. That includes her streams she's done today and the last two days, and the ones she's going to have in the next few days until release, and the videos she's been posting on youtube with early access. So they're effectively holding early access hostage, saying you can only have this by taking this money so creators HAVE to say it's sponsored. Which would be a positive sometimes... but not under these circumstances. If she'd been in a better place emotionally/mentally at the time and not dealing with a family emergency, maybe she would have been able to properly fight/argue with them over this. Because this feels... it's not technically illegal, their legal team would never be that stupid to okay this otherwise, and EA isn't stupid enough to not get this reviewed... but it rides the line of blackmail/bribe real close.

@@sorceressoftheoceanandstar2526 you mean we got the doodoo packs for free all of which should have been in base for free in the first place and some people actually missed the time limit on free things then they put it back at it's original price if anyone should be grateful it's EA for taking our money without putting in effort.
@Tati843 I agree. Especially now a days. Lovestruck is a stuff pack at best, even if it was bug free. The game in general should be reworked, but I don't know if that's possible beyond what they're doing with the updates. I'm so damn bitter about this because regardless of what I decide, I was still stupid and paid almost three hundred dollars for a broken game that was supposed to be my childhood. It's making me wanna move to PC and get sims three, because even if that's buggy too, it's complete (more complete than sims 4 for damn sure) and I plan on only paying ONCE for the thing. Otherwise, I'm not rebuying Sim 4. If I do get it on pc, it'll be base game with mods. They locked so much important shit behind so many paywalls (fuckin' WEATHER, apartments, supernatural etc etc...) That I can't even justify buying the "essential" packs, because ALL of them are in some way. But no. I'm not bitter or nuthin'. 🙃😒
Bruh, that $100 for ten videos worth of content is insulting to even small creators. That is basically $10 for each video, which EA probably wants to be longer than 15 minutes to really show off the features of the new pack, so that would be at least 150 minutes worth of content. And then there's also the time for editing the video as well. EA basically wants to give people playing the new expansion earlier a paltry amount of money, a paltry amount of payment for creators time and effort, for videos they want to pull ten thousands to hundred thousands of views...I don't even think shorts are worth $10 dollars each. EA basically wants free advertising, but acting as if they know no one would advertise them for free, and put the smallest amount of money possible to make the offer more 'attractive.'
I think it's a bit funny how Lilsimsie had to take the $100, whilst Deligracy was given the option to turn it down. I'm assuming that's an America vs Australia thing?
Deli also talked about the payment, but she actually declined the money and still got early access. But she has to buy the pack when the final release is here.
I have a mod that gives you the neighborhood stories updates when you do a gossip interaction, so the love and friendship ones are going to be *drama*. And the picking your own relationship label thing is cool- hopefully it's for both romantic and platonic relationships so you can fill in family relationships that aren't described like "step-grandfather" etc The forcing Game Changers to get paid was so stupid, especially since it seems like a fairly decent pack. If they wanted to pay people to get content on the gallery, they should have just done a contest and promoted some new cute and/or funny Sims for people to favorite if they just want favorited Sims on the gallery (which is going to be an option). The PR on this seems like such a mess, they didn't even mention they were doing changes to Neighborhood Stories. It seems like they left out or downplayed a lot of stuff that I'm sure took lots of programming work
I wouldn’t be surprised if EA’s plan was just to encourage the discrediting of the reviewers. Pay them an absurdly small amount, but enough to make them have to put “paid promotion” on so many videos that viewers will be more skeptical or the TH-camrs’ opinions. The TH-cam simmers need to have a chat group (if they already don’t) where they discuss these “offers” from EA. They could’ve all easily banded together against that.
EA has already been paying Simmers with the creator code things, which is a code given by a creator who got the pack for free, and, if you use that code at check out, it will give a portion of the money you paid to the simmers. You, as a costumer, gain nothing from using the code. Lilsimsie does this, she has been paid by EA for years now.
EA is a crappy company to be sure, but I don't think that the $100 is them trying to buy positive reviews. Rather, it sounds like something their legal department suggested as a way of mollifying the FTC, as the agency has been quite rightly going after companies for not properly disclosing sponsorships on social media. I suspect this is the company trying to keep the FTC off their backs by complying with some FTC guidelines in the most basic way possible.
One thing missing in Neighbourhood stories : Sims death from old age. Sugar daddy/mommy, sugar baby is already a feature from a mod. The weirdo trait is a WW thing since April... With the possibility of building a panties collection... Both clean and worn. Will need a mod to hide stuff from packs that you don't have in live mode, CaS and build mode. Should also hide the world from the packs that you don't have that currently show up.
I think anyone with a creator code should be disclosing that they’re sponsored. She’s making a commission every time someone uses her code, which she promoted in that same video. Which is fine, but it’s disingenuous to pretend there’s no money exchanged and that she has no skin in the game regarding people buying this pack as if they do so with her code she’s making a 5% commission.
I've seen a few creators that were from the content creator network announced they will be purchasing future pack with their own money so maybe that's the deal they got with EA for not accepting the 100$. It seems they did it to try to reduce the backlash in their reviews. So sketchy....
Maybe or maybe they just want to show they've spent their own money, as well as getting the pack for free, along with the money. Another non-Sims gaming channel I follow called ACG does that. Even if they get a code, they still buy the game and then give it away. It's a great way of doing things IMO.
@@Elwaves2925 well I'm talking specifically of the EA content creator network. Those simmers haven't bought a pack for ages, and there's nothing wrong with that, so that's why i find interesting that they are now announcing they are gonna buy packs from now on.
@@suan333 Yeah, it is interesting and I was talking about that network too. I simply wanted to point out another possibility to the one you mentioned. I only used a non-simmer because he's the one I know who definitely does that. 🙂
Ngl, content creators have for years helped EA promote their broken, glitchy software for years. I’m not feeling very sympathetic to this insult from their partner, EA, now that they want to make the relationship legal and on record.🤷🏾♀️
I do a bit of play testing for companies (big ones) on the side, but even I didnt get paid that less for a 2hr session. Kayla played for like 40hr mark and got bare minimum. Its like that one interview I had with nintendo....... I cant say much but it was hilarious.
They are getting really dirty trying to get people to buy packs now to keep their sale targets high for a decade old game that they want to keep going for years and years to come.😬
I hate how they are making it feel forced to buy all the packs. If there's a new simer, it would be SO overwhelming and beyond confusing. I would never play again. I'm so mad about this direction.
If someone didn’t want to accept their terms then just skip the early access and wait for the pack to be available for purchase and download for everyone. That isn’t going to hurt your channel just to have it a week or so before everyone else
@@nbucwa6621 not for one video and when the pack is released for everyone, people that watch these channels whether they have the pack or not, will be interested in watching popular simmers play with it either for gameplay or building. Even still, a video talking about their stipulations for early access got loads of attention on the algorithm which is why we are able to discuss it on this video in particular.
If they are a "Sims news" or "pack review" creator then it potentially could damage their views for at least a month if players decide to go get their news elsewhere.
EA could at least pay the sims channels in question between 500 and 1000$ if they really want it as a sponsored promotion. 🤣At least that sum would be a base game and earlier dlc refund's worth of cash (I dunno how much money you usually get from yt sponsorships, but I'm all for being at least paid farily considering how much sims 4 dlc costs)
I get paid over $100 per video, and I just passed 20k subs. At 2 million I wouldn't expect less than $5k. I also have a lot fewer people going after me to sponsor videos. It's weird and sad. I'm glad she spoke up about it and I hope that gives other creators a push to also be transparent with who is paying what when.
the simology panel is very hard to use in console with all the stuff in it, it can be fidgety to find what ur looking for so that definitely needs to be fixed
I was really glad that you didn't use Kayla's words out of context and included her saying she's doing the fundraiser and that's basically where she considers where the paltry $100 is going. I see a lot of TH-camrs across different fandoms, including The Sims, get shady like that but you didn't do that.
That part at the end with the cas and build/buy showing all items from all packs and greying out the ones you don't have Is SOOOOOOOOO shady. 🖤💜💙💚💙💜🖤 EA are you LISTENING? Stop being slimy Round pools should be basegame. That is LOW, ea. 🖤💜💙💚💙💜🖤 Great video thank you for the info 🖤💜💙💚💙💜🖤 Much Love!!
My problem with this, is that ea is basically forcing simmers like Iilsimsie to damage their credibility, because this is their job, people come to them for their opinion and their content on the packs, so to basically hold their ability to work over their head over being reputable is disgusting. Also only paying them 100 DOLLARS 😀😀😀 absolutely not.
Dang I want this pack if I can do relationship labels for step-family. Sick of my sim step-parents flirting with their kids the second they come of age
On a side note from what I’ve seen so far from early access with the base game update and the new pack I honestly like what I see looks fun not a lot of bugs or glitches and I definitely see it adding to the game as a whole… I think it’s best played when it’s not rushed through like the game changers are which I know they didn’t have much time but over all I’m still excited and still getting the pack and I think it looks really good
I am so glad that Kayla was honest about this. I personally think that it won't hurt her credibility but the reputation of the Sims. It makes me think that maybe the pack isn't good so they feel like they have to buy peoples opinion to make people buy the pack.
16:51 🤬😡 The shop icon is annoying but now they are trying to continue to advertise in game. I’m going to need some mods to get rid of this. Being advertised to ruins the experience.
I cannot wait to see what our favourite modders are going to do with this pack! 😅 And I really hope Kijiko will update their eyelashes for this new eyelash category 😍😍
A nice little Neighborhood Stories update and we're finally able to get makeup and hearing aids to stick? Score! Custom relationship labels might be one of the most potentially chaotic things that I've seen in the Sims fr. I wonder if there's a mod for PC players to get the simology panel to not just explode?
I've never directly said that EA pays simmers (outside of free packs) but I've always said it wasn't beyond them to do that. It was always a tactic they would and could use.
I'm only 12 minutes in and I already can't remember what was happening in the beginning of the different new content that's coming up the hair is amazing and no they should go back and redo those things completely not enhance them because even redoing them in some cases won't help and that's talking about the base game here from the original game
Basic business.. EA found out that custom content creators can and might be making money from doing what they do to make the game better and now they’re trying to bring that into the game . Custom content (cc) creators are making the EA and the whole SIMS team creators look like they are in high school while the college students are using their skills and knowledge for free ( some, have a fee, for the cc custom content that they have created) . E A has noticed that they are ( or could) profit from this. They now have to improve the product and service or be replaced by the CC creators who could and can make a better product and services…. They are already trying to with the new games that are rumored to be “COMING SOON “ …. EA should be spooked and trying to make the game better….. time ,will tell us the whole truth ….. in the meantime I am looking at those new rumored life simulation games that might be released soon … if EA doesn’t improve anything or do any legal action. New life simulation games are going to come out soon and be better than this………EA is starting to become more aware that they might become dinosaurs 🦕 SOON ,In this gaming industry subject. …… they are pressured to improve their games or loose their money tree 🌳
By paying content creators and influencers to promote content is a way to keep the audience engaged in their business content and NOT look elsewhere… let’s wait and see what happens next in this drama of life simulation game creations yet to come and very soon, i feel…….
The third icon on the second row fits PERFECTLY for James Turner, Formerly know as TheSimSupply's Rent to Riches Let's Play, which, due to bugs, will be wrapped up soon, making one of the shorter LPs, I think it'd be the 2nd shortext, with Dine Out Reloaded being the shortest one with only 10 episodes, but that was also a mini-series, so...
I got a lot of thoughts. But I don't know how to arrange them yet. But one thing I didn't notice concerning them showing things that you don't own as an option for dating stuff to do, during James's video, it allowed him to pull out costumes from Batuu which wasn't activated. I think that might be a glitch. Remember, they are beta testing this pack. But like everything else in the DLCs, I'm going to wait til I play with it.
I really, really hope this is the scandal that will deal a bigger blow to the company. Forcing someone to accept a bad sponsorship deal for _early access content_ is VILE. It takes a LOT of work to make good videos for your fans, and $100 doesn’t stretch that far. What a disgusting company. I’m glad Simsie spoke out about it - maybe I’m delusional for hoping creators calling them on it will sink them a little more, but I can dream.
Okay but being literally paid is one thing but being sent the pack early is a monetary bias on its own. So theres no money exchanging hands- its giving a huge benefit to her and other established chanels to get more viewers vs youtubers without early access codes. She and others open with "im not being paid, they just sent me the pack early". How many views does this early access content generate compared to if she only had published content after the release of the game like other creators? Im just saying theres other monetary bias amongst youtube reviewers
In Deligracys early access she said she was offered the £100 and refused to take it, so you could do it without taking the money, it sucks they kind of through that at her when she was away, or she probably would have said hell no, no one should be forced to take it. The n on top of that it is an insulting amount, if your going to pay actually pay something that worth the amount of work
That's such an insultingly low amount of money. Not even counting the gallery post, that's ten bucks a video, for videos _entirely_ about the "sponsored" product. The VPNs and meal services and whatever else are paying creators far, _far_ more than that to have a minute-or-so sponsored _segment_ in a video.
Hats off to lil simsie for being transparent.. but she does have benefit when an expansion does well, I'm sure her millions of followers use her code esp when she loves a pack. EA is becoming a MLM !! Cmonnn
Now only if they can FINALLY fix the gallery! All users I have once saved aren’t there, even now if I save a user and restart my game they have disappeared! 😂 The cc app would be great for my favorite s only if they would actually save!
I had an infinate loading bug where once you loaded into the game you couldn't access build mode/manage worlds/the gallery/the button that should've been removed/ and you couldn't save. Turns out it's a conflict with mccommand and SNB Bank. Deleting those mods fixed the issue.
The fact that EA offered $100, regardless of creator size, is insulting. For every $100 EA spends, they only have to cross their fingers that THREE people buy the expansion for them to make their money back and then some. It feels pretty obvious to say that a big simmer giving a good review would lead to well more than three people buying the dlc. That aside, the new base game stuff seems really interesting. I haven’t played in nearly a year bc it feels like EA is so weird and money-grabby over everything. But if I don’t have to spend more money to get those features, I might consider redownloading.
None of the creators had to accept the offer. The fact is that ten videos nets them way more than $100 and that’s why they had to suck it up. They could have chosen to say “I won’t be showing you early access for this pack as EA put me in an untenable position” but they didn’t
The fact that they had the audacity to offer such a big creator 100$ is hilarious and embarrassing for them.
100$ for big creators is crazy considering that is probably what they make daily or every other day
@@ejfiewfeuihefwiuwedefinitely closer to $10,000 for lilsimie

Kayla said she recorded 40 hours of early access. If I did my math correctly she was paid about $2.50 per hour filmed.
i mean, i don't feel bad for her. she makes millions playing this game, between her twitch and youtube. plus thousands of the dollars on the videos with this pack alone. but they're definitely undercutting smaller creators which isn't okay.
edit: i see a few comments saying she doesn't make millions. yes she does. she makes about $1.1 mil on her main channel alone. she also has her second channel that has her 3+ hour live streams, in which youtube pays more for watch time. and she makes about $700k a year on twitch. she does make millions. she's just not flashy about it.

That is a disgusting low amount of money for LILSIMSIE of all people.
it's her morals at the end of the day. she decided that the money from making early access videos was better than sticking to her morals
I mean, her opinion means little to nothing to me but yeah I don’t think she’s lying on behalf of EA

3k likes for an emotional opinion while facts get overlooked
@@XUrbanSimsX thank you for clearing that up
I heard the same thing.
100 dollars isn't much for a sponsorship, so I suspect EA may be "testing the waters" here with something small and seemingly insignificant to see how creators and the player market responds.
that's only $10 per video... not even mentioning the gallery creation! absolute daylight robbery.
It does sound like the money was only for the gallery creation, not the videos

EA yet again turns wants to bite off modders. Ebonix did a collab with Dark & Lovely (a BLACK hair care brand) and it is AMAZING. And look at the crap EA is trying to push with their random ass collab. Absolutely not, that’s probably why it’s free, bc it’s already cheap and done better by someone else.

If it was for one video maybe they could be like “small gift” but TEN, TEN EDITED videos.

Imagine if no one did any early access for the new packs. Now that would send a statement!
I think it's a bit funny how Lilsimsie had to take the $100, whilst Deligracy was given the option to turn it down. I'm assuming that's an America vs Australia thing?
Yes actually
Deli also talked about the payment, but she actually declined the money and still got early access. But she has to buy the pack when the final release is here.
I have a mod that gives you the neighborhood stories updates when you do a gossip interaction, so the love and friendship ones are going to be *drama*.
And the picking your own relationship label thing is cool- hopefully it's for both romantic and platonic relationships so you can fill in family relationships that aren't described like "step-grandfather" etc
The forcing Game Changers to get paid was so stupid, especially since it seems like a fairly decent pack. It seems like they left out or downplayed a lot of stuff that I'm sure took lots of programming work
Oo whats the mod?

In the little bit I’ve seen of early content, it looks like there’s not enough to squeeze out a lot of videos.
It can take literally 10 to 15 hours to build really good quality gallery builds too. No matter how you look at it it's a joke

If someone didn’t want to accept their terms then just skip the early access and wait for the pack to be available for purchase and download for everyone. That isn’t going to hurt your channel just to have it a week or so before everyone else
If you know youtube algorithms, it could very well hurt their channels.

I cannot wait to see what our favourite modders are going to do with this pack! 😅
And I really hope Kijiko will update their eyelashes for this new eyelash category 😍😍
I wonder if the sponsorship was a ploy to put more of the false advertising accusations onto the creators instead of EA. Glad people spoke up about it
$100 is 1/6th of what EA paid almost every college football player who signed licensing agreement with EA for College football 25.
Lilsimsie’s review is now invalid since it’s paid. Good on her for saying what went on
The third icon on the second row fits PERFECTLY for James Turner, Formerly know as TheSimSupply's Rent to Riches Let's Play, which, due to bugs, will be wrapped up soon, making one of the shorter LPs, I think it'd be the 2nd shortext, with Dine Out Reloaded being the shortest one with only 10 episodes, but that was also a mini-series, so...
EA think they are so sneaky and they're just straight up manipulative
also the dating app part looks exactly like the free mod Simda
Okay but being literally paid is one thing but being sent the pack early is a monetary bias on its own. So theres no money exchanging hands- its giving a huge benefit to her and other established chanels to get more viewers vs youtubers without early access codes. She and others open with "im not being paid, they just sent me the pack early". How many views does this early access content generate compared to if she only had published content after the release of the game like other creators? Im just saying theres other monetary bias amongst youtube reviewers
So they’re gonna have tons people paying $40 for this pack, but they can’t even pay more than $100 to a simmer. Something isn’t adding up.
10:57 like since the sims 3, lol
I remember myself simply falling asleep over a showcase of aurora skies
They should have just spent that budget on bigger discounts on the games.
None of the creators had to accept the offer. The fact is that ten videos nets them way more than $100 and that’s why they had to suck it up. They could have chosen to say “I won’t be showing you early access for this pack as EA put me in an untenable position” but they didn’t
