I am thinking about adding this system to my Road Glide. Still on the fence because I really don't play my stereo very much. I like to listen to my Rinehart pipes.
I went with the 4 speaker setup in my 2021 Ultra. I have to say that this setup is worth it. The audio playback on the internet does not do it justice. One thing to add to this, you don't need a dealer to do the flash. You flash it yourself via the Rockford Fosgate app built for this system and it gives you a 7 band customizable EQ so you are not stuck with a factory flash and then just High/Low via the head unit. I installed it myself....takes some time...but was not too bad. I will probably add the other speakers/amp (lids and lower fairing) this winter. This system smokes the one I had in my 09 which was a pioneer head unit...amp...and Polk DB speakers.
I completely agree about the fact that you cannot fully appreciate the sound quality via these videos. Try listening to Queens “Invisible Man” on your system 👍

Best speaker amp set up I've ever hand in my 4 Harleys 2021 limited cvo took the boom out put in Rockford thought about doing speakers in the lowers after I got it put in would have been nice to have the lower speakers to but system is so loud and clear even at 80 MPH glad I didn't spent extra money on them

Going on past Harley stereo systems the hearing a Rockford system and a bike being stored for winter. Figured I would up grade it. Originally I was going to do. Fairing and lowers and rears. After hearing a Rockford I decided to forget the lowers. And save another 1000 bucks and didn’t really want both bags with amps in them. Still don’t know why they didn’t mount the main amp over the radio where the original boom amp was. The true test was when I downloaded the last Izzy Osborne album on my phone. On the boom. There is so much bass in that album. I got distortion. With the Rockford. It’s much better. Almost non existent
@@ricklabreche7893 You know I didn't realize the CVO Limited still has the Boom Audio. The CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide both have the RF Stage 2 Systems. That is very interesting and a bit confusing. I have an answer for you regarding the placement of the RF amp. The amp is a Class D I believe, and Class D amps are small and powerful, however they play havoc with FM radio signals. If you put the amp in the fairing you can kiss your FM radio reception goodbye! MY 2018 CVO Street Glide has the Boom Stage 2 with the three 300 Watt Amps and 6 3Way Bi-Amped speakers. Its still impressive as all hell. You can see it at the very end of the video. Maybe I should make a comparison video??
I have a stage 3. I went with a 6 speaker set up. 6.5" speaker in the Upper fairing, bought lower fairings thru hogworkz and put 6.5" in them, then 6x9's in the bags. I'll never blow my speakers because of it. Don't have it on speed volume, have faded out the fronts just a tad and leave 4 bubbles on the volume.
Hello, thanks for the comments. My system is not a after market Rockford system. The system I had installed is the Harley Davidson Legendary Sound by Rockford Fosgate. It comes from HD. RF does not sell it directly and it only comes in two flavors. Stage 1 and Stage 2. Mine is the Stage 2. It is the exact same system that HD puts on the CVO.
@@thanosetsitty1896 The Rockford Stage 2 reference relates to the Speaker’s. The Stage 2 speaker is better than the Stage 1 speaker. It doesn’t have to do with the number of speakers. Hope that helps clarify your question.

Nice bike! Question about the seat....I have a 22 SGS, purchased the same seat, but when I installed it there was a 1/2" gap (very noticable) between front of the seat and the tank console, did you have this problem? I had an older 17 Streetglide with same seat (older style console) and didn't have the problem. I thought about trying to modify seat to scoot it up closer, did you have issues?
The seat is the same one that is on my CVO except it and the rider pillion are not made out of leather. It is a Harley seat and pillion. So if you bought from Harley like me, mine fits like a glove. It fits exactly like it’s brother on my CVO. Hope that helps
@@davidz4189 ok thx. Looks great. The Fosgate system comes with templates to cut the lid safely. Saves me 700 bucks! I have boom 2 in the fairing and they are loud. Toying with the idea of adding bag speakers to my 19 rgs. It's actually more expensive to add 2 boom 2 speakers than Uninstall the boom 2 system and install the RF full 4 speaker system by about 400. I would do it myself. About 1600.

The main amp for fairing and rear is amp in left bag. If u do lowers also a second amp goes in right saddlebag and only drives the lowers. If u have say an ultra with rears and add lid speaks and the rears. The 2 nd amp will run saddle bag speaks along with the lower fairing speakers. So u can run 8 speakers with 2 amps. Go to TH-cam Harley channel. Look for Rockford fosgate system install video. Explains the options.
Anybody have this, and are you truly happy with the outcome ? My dealership wants $3,330 to install the kit with using new lids that are painted Already to match. Worth it ?

Be sure you mention to them to bend the arial bracket out of the way or it will cut into the wiring harness. A lesson R&R learned on my install.

No. Those are CVO lids. Color matched from H-D.

Probably. The bag speakers do put out more bass than the fairing speakers. So if you don’t mind a little less bass, I would think you would be happy.

Why not put the amp under the fairing?
U would have to ask Harley and Rockford who designed the system. Rockford aftermarket amps do go on top of the radio.
