oh man I remember doing this when I was in Indonesia. I ordered two bubble teas, and gave one for the delivery guy. The reaction I got is still one of things I cherish the most, he said thank you and told me excitedly that he'd rush home soon to gave it to his kid, saying he'd love it. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.. I should have given him more I'm sorry nice delivery guy 😭
The one he is holding is probably worth 6-7 US dollars and can be a couple hours wait if ordered in person, probably not something he's ever tried for himself before. He is cleary very moved. So nice.

I don't know what is the situation in China but in India even that labor comes with lots of harassment. In our locality there's no head or tails of our addresses, for example if my address is 37 _ street, the house right beside ours is 234 _ street which is extremely confusing. Now that can be resolved by giving a landmark near the house. Now the situation is most people forget to give the landmarks or give the wrong one and then they harass these guys for delivering late. Almost every day when I study late at night I see these people roaming around confused so I help them whenever I can because there are no people to ask for directions at that time. That's not all, one of them shared that the customer didn't give any address only the landmark now Google maps showed the person a different landmark with the same name which is 60 kilometers away from the customer's house, now imagine.
i've also been doing this since the outbreak. i ordered lunch for delivery man at least once a week, especially during Ramadan (meals for iftar). and it makes me so happy when they're happy with the foods! i once ordered 6 meals for 1 delivery man. and i told him that he can bring all of them home or give them to their peers, it's up to him because the foods are his. imagine how grateful i am when he shared the photo of him giving those meals to the costruction workers near the restaurant (he took 3 for himself and his family).

The reward of those who believe and do good deeds is incomprehensible. The lowest ranked person in Jannah will have a kingdom that takes a thousand years to cross. How many times larger than earth is that? For one person! Some people will have kingdoms spanning the milky way and Allah knows best. Let's do good here and hope Allah is happy when we are called to him.

These men are in the frontlines too, trying their best to cater to the demands and cravings of other people while risking getting infected. I've heard numerous stories of people pranking these deliverymen and even cancelling orders right after they purchase what was ordered (can't refund so they have to pay it with their own money) and it annoys me how people can do such things. Salute to these men. Thank you for your service.
Those people are really assholes. As someone who knows how it feels like working both in a restaurant and delivering food, I try to always be nice whenever I order. Unfortunately I can't afford to give much but I try to leave tips when possible.
Oh my goodness. I was smiling so hard but at the end when the gentleman wiped his eyes, tears just started running down my face. We forget sometimes how hard people work to earn a living and they are outside in all seasons. I will recall them smiling and just nod my head. Thank you for your hard work..
Once I had a milk tea craving in the middle of the night, I also bought one for the driver to compensate the trouble lol. He paid me with a very genuine smile. Made me really happy. Whenever I have extra cash I try to tip food runners 😊

I used to have the fear to order online thinking that they might judge me for my age but I've never encountered smth like that.. Maybe next time you can give the delivery man a choice of two things. First you can give the cashier a 10 or 20 dollar note and tell him to use that for which one of the two-three choices the delivery guy wants and give you back the rest of the amount when the delivery guy leaves the store.

I love things like these... Kindness makes the world better. Funny story, just abt 2 weeks ago I ordered 3 drinks and gave one to the driver. He thanked me, but it felt like nothing to him lmao it was pretty weird, I was hoping to see him getting excited and all. Anyway, being clumsy as ever, I dropped one of mine and it splashed all over (dang it was mango squash with boba, I loved it). The guy said "oh you lost much of it" and went away so fast, I still think he was afraid I'd take it back from him lmao.

Maybe next time you can give the delivery man a choice of two things. First you can give the cashier a 10 or 20 dollar note and tell him to use that for which one of the two-three choices the delivery guy wants and give you back the rest of the amount when the delivery guy leaves the store.

This is making me tear up. After reading some bad news in social media where the delivery riders are conned sending them to fake address and cancelling orders afterbthey have purchased it already, this is heart-warming. They deserved such great gesture. Thank you.

I love things like these... Kindness makes the world better. Funny story, just abt 2 weeks ago I ordered 3 drinks and gave one to the driver. He thanked me, but it felt like nothing to him lmao it was pretty weird, I was hoping to see him getting excited and all. Anyway, being clumsy as ever, I dropped one of mine and it splashed all over (dang it was mango squash with boba, I loved it). The guy said "oh you lost much of it" and went away so fast, I still think he was afraid I'd take it back from him lmao.
