I think Vinny and most of chat saw the "Don't press this one" as he pressed the button, but I was too slow to react and couldn't get my headphones off in time. Good on you for warning people, even if it was pretty funny once the tinnitus wore off.
I had my headphones on during that, and it was jarring, but it didn't hurt me. I guess I didn't have it turned up as loud as some other people do.

I'm kind of disappointed that Vinny didn't finish it, but I have to agree that the "GLaDOS" battle was dragging on a bit too much.
That's because he kept dying before getting the last hit because he's channeling DarkSydePhil for some fucking reason.

The fact that the half life shotgun is double-barreled still bothers me to this day.
Valve probably thought the underside barrel of the spas-12 was an actual barrel.
Black Mesa fixed it by making the alt-fire shoot two shells quickly, instead of at the same time.
Don't mention the smg1 with underbarrel grenade launcher that has a barrell of a caliber that is too small to fire grenades
then again with half life aylx the combine propbaby did some werid upgrade shit with the weapons
Fun over realism. HL shotgun is one of the best in games because of that.
I honestly really like the hud, wouldn't mind having a separate mod for it

I love that both Gordon Freakman mods are a perfectly even blend of Half-Life 1, Half-Life 2, and Half-Life 2’s beta versions.
for those who don't know. "big pink cookie" is actually a very obscure reference to a video where they interview the valve employees at their office. their was one part of the segment where an awkward employee would grab a big pink frosted cookie from the snacks area and slowly pick it apart at his desk for weeks at a time. another part mentioning his awkward interchanges with the restocking lady. you can watch the segment here th-cam.com/video/YR0WN55p_zI/w-d-xo.html

I honestly kinda enjoyed this trash and was bummed that he didn't finish it.
It's weird that out of all the no effort trash vinny has played over the years, this would be something he would just up quit in the end.

Thing is behind the memes and shitposts there is honestly a lot of effort he put into the mod - coding, modelling, etc.
To be fair, he played this one mod for well over an hour despite clearly not being very invested in it. It kinda overstayed its welcome by that point.

My goodness, these mods (original Gordon Freakman) included are just scattered with references to the original Unreal. The maker of these mods must've really liked it.
The first mod had at least 2 of its tracks used. And this one goes on to use the game's sniper rifle, a few more tracks, and even some sound effects.
I played Unreal for the first time earlier this year (and replayed it again last summer), so I'm getting some young nostalgia from these used assets.

the intro of this game used a lot of sound assets from unreal gold, and had really similar atmosphere. I nostalgiad so hard I went and bought it on steam sale. Even some of the music was from unreal.
I'm loving that the game uses UT and Unreal assets. I've never seen that in Half-life mods, but I'm digging it already.
