Feel like crying watching this...That golden voice was such a big part of my childhood..miss him dearly... 🙏✨💖🙌
Bless and Greetings From Chile..!
Me too...wish I had seen him live. 😭⚘
you're not alone friend
me too very big lose take care
Gregory was truly one of the greats, out of my record collection he holds one of the biggest parts, I have probably a couple of hundred Gregory singles. By the time of this performance his voice was slightly on the decline. I saw Gregory live numerous times, first time I think was around 1978 but for me the second time I saw him which would have been around 1981-82 is still one of the best musical performances I’ve ever seen - saw him with the full Roots Radics band (every member was present) a truly great night.
It sweet! Rip Dad
Bless up Kevin.
💖
Hey kevin.
Rest On Gregory Love you to the bone. All the way from 🇳🇬
May He Rest In Power
Boy the talent that comes out of that little country is just unreal
Something about this instrument
Gregory performed live and he sounds like
he's in the studio..love it.
@sherforlife1 you make a point I have always paid attention to about Gregory Isaacs - consistency of his works no matter where he does it from.
By contrast (which is by no means a comparison), notice how Peter Tosh almost makes it a point to sing differently in each live performance from either the last live performance or studio recording of the same song.
There are very few Peter Tosh live recordings which are identical to studio recordings - I take it it was his choice and signature.
Big up to these talented musicians we have been privileged to listen to.
Peace, Love and Blessings from Zambia
❤ All heart ❤
I always miss him and Denise Brown... Their songs and voice always inspired me to sing songs like a bird till date.
Peace be upon them both🕊️🙏🏾💐
He was a musical genius he truly deserved the title "cool ruler"

I can't agree more with you, Sir! I can still remember our English teacher bringing his radio with a cassette of GI's great song 'Night Nurse' for a listening comprehension lesson. It happened in 1986 and after the lesson I took a bus to go and purchase that cassette. I lost it two years ago and cried like a child. We miss him dearly but he is in our heart. When I feel low I go to TH-cam to listen to his music. May he RIP.
Real talk right there he really is tha Cool Ruler what a beautyfull soul he had and what a voice 💯🤘🏾🙏🏽😇
Talent, pure talent! I still get chills when I see this.
These what we created for you yonger generation...nothing but talent...no baddness !!!

No competition, I make you my decision, yeah
Every time I hear the music and I make a dip, a dip
Slave master comes around and spank I with his whip, the whip
But if I don't get my desire
Then I'll set the plantations in fire
My temperature is getting much higher
Got to get what I require
'Cause every time we do the work sometimes we are hurt, oh yeah
Boss never do a thing but hold on to his girth
But if I don't get my desire
Then I'll set the plantations in fire
My temperature is getting much higher
Got to get what I require
Every time I hear the music and I move my hip, my hip
Slave master comes around and spank I with his whip, a whip
Slave master, I'm the shepherd you're my pastor
Say you rock ?? so long we make the work
And if I don't get my desire
Then I'll set the station on fire
My temperature is getting much higher
Got to get what I require
But if I don't get my desire
Then I set the stations in fire
My temperature is getting much higher
Got to get what I require
The original cool ruler himself 🙏👏🙌🇯🇲🇯🇲

The cool ruler what a golden voice 🤔🤔
Continue Resting in peace
Live performance sounds just as good as the recorded version which is not achieved by many artists very often. My favourite Gregory Isaac song but only hears this about 2 months ago. Love Rumours and The Border too. RIP!!
The live version from the movie rockers is by far the best version
Best of the best ..better than bob. Show heaven what your made of and sing cool ruler to jah..

Gregory Isaacs cantando Slave Master é divino com esses músicos maravilhosos.
Had the pleasure of meeting the Skipper over the years. He was a true gentleman and a fantastic singer. In person was 1 of the first albums I bought in the 70s. Big up Gregory gone but will always be heard 🎤🎼🎹🇯🇲🙏❤️
I Would really love to see Bob Marley Dennis Brown Gregory Isaac Buju Banton together live would be Amazing💯💣.
All except buju lol, he not on their level. Different reggae style.
Aww man you're trying to pass out.😭Thats too much goodness. That would be incredible!
Dennis and Gregory did loads together. Check them doing raggamuffin live, both coked up. Dennis knocks Gregory's hat off and laughs his head off
@@makavelimusolini1036 You say Buju Banton not and there level Stop sleeping and wake up if you listen to as much Buju as I do you'll know what am talking about right now you sleeping.

70's and 80's were best years for reggae by far. The 3 kings for me were always Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs.
I liked Peter Tosh also besides those 3
Not to forget John Holt
I would go as far as to put Frankie Paul in that line up .
Sugar Minott
There were a lot of musical reggae geniuses
He was a great musician wow!!!!
See this when I was 17 now 43 see it on here great live performance absolute legend Jamaican Sinatra one off reggaes all time greats missed but never forgotten rinsed he's tunes as a youth and still doing it now so many favourites he produced sang so many good songs list is endless rock on cool ruler 😎
He was great and not even at his peak here. I feel sorry for the post 2k generation. Will likely never see a 8-10 piece band let alone a tight reggae band that can actually play instruments together

Not died yet,my legend,I tear off when I listen to you music...
GREATEST SINGER AND WRITER EVER S.I.P UNCLE
Evidence that ‘the powers that be’ politicize not just the black woman’s hair but also the back man’s...Gregory was a hat man, yet sadly, to appear on this show he is somehow convinced that he needs extra hair gel and softener 😞
Such a weak comment 😂
Judgement A Come I agree with you, he's looking good. Man can do what he wants, this idea that black people are constantly being oppressed is just tedious. Anyone with good taste knows Gregory is class and loved by all reggae fans.
@@mooskamoo it's mostly the voice
Why do people like you bring race into everything ? Gregory Isaacs was loved and respected by Black and white alike, music transcends all of the bullshit .A true great who left us too soon but who will always be with us through his great music.
Love everything about Gregory. One of the best 🇹🇹🇨🇦🇨🇦🇹🇹
Ohh wath a big Gregory !!!

I Saw him shortly before hes untimliy demise. In a modest setting in uppsala, sweden. Still 100% professional. Like if sinatra had been there.
I Loved that spirit, I loved that voice.

I grew up here in L.A. and was blessed to see Gregory Isaacs perform at so many festivals and smaller venues. He was such a big part of my youth. Much love respect and positive vibes to everyone that has been touched by this man's beautiful music. Mr Cool Ruler, Mr Lonely Lover, you are truly missed....

Que maravilha este vídeo, que show. O figurino ficou ótimo. Este é o Gregory Isaacs sem substituto . Muito saudade!
Sinto muito porque nunca vi Gregory cantar ao vivo.
Great, great singer. However as can be heard on this video his voice was nothing like what it used to be in his heyday. I saw him way back in 1985 in Germany. I stood directly in front of him. He was obviously on some kind of substance back then. Self abuse destroyed his voice.
What a magic in this artist ❤❤❤❤
