We've all had em John , it's when your sat on your box thinking I could be at home glossing that door or sat in a nice warm pub with a pint sort of days . 👍🤣
I'd rather blank than gloss a door🤣Pub sounds good though, it's hard work sitting there biteless for the best part of 5hrs, definitely start to question your sanity.
I thought you were going to do a #JamesAtkinsFishing There for a minute John, blankety blank But saved by the bell with a little roach well done for sticking it out, cheers, 🤣👍👍
I had one of those at Rising Sun on the coldest day of the year at that point in November it dropped to -4oC - the place is stuffed with fish but I couldn't tempt one that day - lesson learnt, don't go after the first hard frost!
Soul destroying when you have a match like that. You begin to doubt your own ability. Hope the next one gives a few fish John, if for nothing else but to restore your belief and enjoyment.
Thanks Mike, I'm learning to accept them for what they are, very little that could be done about it, the fish just didn't want to bite. You know what they say, "it's better to be lucky than good"😉
It's fished ok in some parts and very hard in others, hard to tell where the fish will be on the day. At least you had a few bites Chris, I'd have been very happy with 3lb on Saturday.
Bites were definitely at a premium Clive but it's amazing what one little roach does for your mental attitude - you know there's nothing wrong with what you're doing, they just weren't there in numbers.
There's no shelter from a wind like that is there. Talking to a few lads on the A&C it's been tough going for some, and lots of chewed maggots. There have been some good weights, though if you land on the fish.
Always the case, just need to draw on em, it's a big old canal and the wind fair whips down it. I don't know the results yet but needless to say my solitary roach didn't spend any time in the keepnet. 🤣
Five hours hard fishing, a few bites, chopping and changing and one fish. Ever the optimist, get the bad one out of the way! You know it will get better!👍

At least not water licked, bloody close though, all the best for next matches..hopefully not as cold.
Thanks Phil. I've seen the results now and I was drawn in the worst section on the canal, no surprise there though.🤷♂️

Hi John one of thought day 🥶
One of the coldest days I've ever fished in April, the windchill was bitter.
