Drove this at 2am in the rain. Very Dark and kinda scary. I had to go from Ridgecrest to Bakersfield to catch a 5am flight. Was my first time on this road. Thanks for the video. I never got to see any of the scenery. Too dark.
When this is your commute it becomes muscle memory and anything slower than 60mph is torture. Thank you for using the turnouts! If you was a really exciting drive I recommend the Lions Trail. Caliente Bodfish road. That one is treacherous.
It is an awesome drive, and literally breathtaking! Thankful for the turnouts that allows you to stop and let others who are in a hurry behind you to go ahead🙂
Us locals actually love it. If you aren’t familiar or are scared, take it slow and use turn outs. Our locals tend to be road bullies so dont let people intimidate you into going faster, take your time. :)
From Bakersfield you can go highway 65, then go 155 but that is too far! It's not really that treacherous if you're careful. It's a fun and interesting drive!
I’ve never driven this but I saw a post on ig giving advice about it. Skimming thru this video. It doesn’t look bad. Imo driving up Angeles crest hwy was scary bc one wrong turn and you’re done. Even up Azusa canyon and GMR are kinda sketch. This kinda looks like a flat road for the most part but idk. Anyone wanna educate me on why people giving advice?

I'd be scared to drive here in the dark. Too many twists and turns.

This drive seems treacherous for us who are not used to it but it's exciting at the same time :-D I hope to check that Lions Trail someday. Thanks!
Is this the only way to kernville know any less treacherous route
I like it. I will probably go this way at the end of May. Beautiful
You should! It's a beautiful scenic drive. 🙂
Drove this may 2023. Water was massive this year. Loved the road . Wishing I had captured it all 😢. Thank you for sharing
I live 3 minutes from the mouth of the canyon. It is an awesome drive, and beautiful!

Excellent 👍
Thanks for using the turnouts :)
Thanks for noticing :-D just practicing safety and giving way for the drivers who were in a hurry
i drove this about 10 years ago and it scarred me for life. Now I can't even drive the grapevine. This drive was too dangerous for me
Thankfully there are turnouts where you can stop to breath and collect your wits before proceeding 😁it's an exciting drive though

It's an interesting drive. I think people give advice to follow the road signs just for safety precautions.
Do you remember how fast you were going on average?
we were going on the minimum speed, and sometimes even slower when there's nobody behind but the GoPro makes it look like you are over-speeding :-D
It's not dangerous, just driven too fast..
Slow the sloth down people..
Bodfish and Isabella. Watch how many
Times you have to pull off.. alot.
I agree with you Gary, some of those drivers just speed up like mad
Yes, drivers should slow down and enjoy the view.
