My wife and I went to the US 40 years ago as international students. It was hard for the first few months and got better for the rest of 8 years. You will be fine in China. Be calm and make friends. Good people are all the same no matter where they come from. Wish you the best.
Chinese to learn for beginners is best word by word.Example you ask him how much is "duo shao qian" ,3 words. The person whom spoke to you are village people,so they speak have the tone dragging sound that you misheard is 2 words.
@@JonnyInChinadifferent villagers people in china speak tends to have a weird tonal slang when pronouncing Chinese words that sometimes Chinese beginners learners have hard time grasping the words. But they can clearly understand you if you speak perfect Chinese, word by words.
@@JonnyInChina it's because they often spoke their dialect village language at home. When you are fluent in Chinese, you will be able to make out what they are saying.
Hang out with Chinese students please. You will explore more and find the beauty of this city truly and learn about Chinese society and culture deeply. This is the best way and fastest way. Good luck. 😅
I know most people tend to stick to familiarity, i.e. people of the same background hang out together however this is a valuable opportunity so hopefully you make more local Chinese friends and in turn learn more about China and its culture.
Wow, PKU, what a prestigious university! Enjoy your time in China. Please make more videos
Will do for sure!
