I’d take a deposit for the cost of the gravel before you even crank the truck. If they want it they’ll have no problem paying for that. Can easily do that in HouseCall, we have that app and take deposits often. Can even save a card on file and bill rest when you’re done.

I may have to end up doing that if it happens much more, but most of my customers would rather pay with cash or check.

I grew up in NYC now live in Myrtle beach and with that said I would NEVER do that to a contractor . Don't paint us all with a broad brush my friend......

Yes, I know. It definitely depends on the individual person.

Nope, they were clearly advertised and shown as wood chips from tree trimming. Oh well.

I don't see why not. You just have to try it and see what works.

Need to get a machine. Mini ex or skid steer. That’s where the money and business is. I bought a 35g and I’m averaging $6500 a week part time. Still driving for ups at night full time.

Nice! Is that profit or before expenses?

      @@gaylorpropertyservice that’s before expenses. That’s averaging 40 hours a week.
You already have a truck. You might need to upgrade your trailer depending on how big your machine is. But the money is there. It’s risky yes, but it’s paying off big for me.

@@gaylorpropertyservice just bought a 331g I’m doing so well. When I first started out, I was kinda freaking out because I invested a lot of money into a hope really. My buddy who owns his own business said to me in a pep talk “people are paying and paying big”! Boy, he wasn’t lying. Most of my customers are telling me I’m way cheap. But I feel like I’m making money hand over fist. I’d feel like I’d be stealing if I charge more.
The reason I tell you this is because you have the work ethic. It seems you have a good flow of clients already. A small machine could boost your business substantially if you could just get one. It will not only pay for itself, but you will multiply your hourly rate tremendously. It sips fuel. It does most of the hard labor. It’s kind of a no brainer. If you like, we could link up on a phone call and I can explain to you more.

@@wannabtrucker9634 Yes, I would have to buy a bigger trailer as well. I’ve thought about getting one someday. I’m not ready to yet, just too much money for now.

@@gaylorpropertyservice I get that. But remember, more money for equipment but the profit ratio vs work load is worth comparing to what you are doing now.
