Its a very two sided street. Sometimes people do use it as an excuse for their actions, which is very fkd up. But mental illness sometimes makes you do or not be able to do something. Its hard to know when people are lying or legitimately need help.
True, there are some or few that seems to fit the bill of depending on it due to depression, but onwards it became a norm to alibi. Some of those who alibi are aware they do it due to their supposed depression and is proud of it, but you can see that in a way, they can or have the potentiality to recuperate and stand back on their own. But they chose not to, because of supposed depression of them. Technically it's just a one way ticket out of reality for them. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against them, it's just they have the capability and it's a waste, they could've done something better.

Update: She apparently had some manic moments months after this and destroyed the Kelly doll. She partially blames the hate she was getting from online. She got some help and a boyfriend afterwards. Then they broke up after I think a year I read. She immediatly went back to her Kelly doll and had her remade. So Kelly now looks like a little person instead of a child. She has little breasts and a more adult form. Kellys still a zombie and had no jaw but there's less blood. She and Kelly are in a relationship according to her. She also has a doll boyfriend and multiple zombie doll children with Kelly.
Interested story. I still think she needs some serious therapy. But at least Kelly doesn't look like a 9 year old anymore. 🤷♀️
Additional update 10/31/22: Thanks to Admire in the replies of this comment apparently Kelly's getting another new body made of silicone. I guess Kelly's become and full ledge s%x doll. And her and her zombie boyfriend, Robert are now engaged. 😐

It's not really political though. While this woman feels that she loves objects, that literally cannot love her back or give consent or do literally anything, she tries defending herself fir seeing them as kids. She said she doesn't see them as objects, and states that she has side "relationships" with other dolls. This is mental illness. It does seem like if she were unsupervised in a day care with kids about this age she would do some suspicious shit. This is potentially harmful, and it's worrisome. This isn't about politics, this is about someone's wellbeing and how they might evolve into hurting others. This woman looks like she wants to be in a relationship with a young child. She's just handling it very differently and very strangely. The argument that "well, if it doesn't hurt anyone and makes her happy" doesn't apply very easily. Because this behavior could hurt people. She could decide she's tired of dolls. She said so herself, she doesn't see them as dolls, but as people. Who's to say she wouldn't hurt people's kids? She really needs help, and that not political.
By mental illness, I do not mean depression or schizophrenia. I mean she has a misplaced concept of love, and that may stem from her loss of her dad. This is not to excuse her, but to try to make sense of why she's acting like this. She may even be developmentally stuck, feeling like a younger teenager or child. That may explain why she's drawn to things that look like kids.
And he is worried about offending viewers, that maybe this lady is just doing something harmless collecting child zombie dolls. If it doesn't hurt anyone, it's probably ok. There's worse out there. But just like the rest of us, that image is broken when she starts talking about some very weird things and blurring the lines of reality and her wants. That's when shit turns scary. Don't turn things into politics when there isn't a political issue here. Not one politician has ever addressed things like this and no one tries to make laws or restrictions on this. It's about lifestyle. And about safety.

Honestly, this video is one of my favorites BECAUSE Ken shares his opinion with so much conviction. I agree and I think a lot of us do, but even if people disagreed, I think it's so lovely and refreshing to see someone give their honest take on something and not worrying about pandering to their audience. Pedophillia never even crossed my mind until she mentioned it, and became adamant about defending how she wasn't a pedo. That means that she's been told that before and/or that she's being defensive about the obvious. That shit is extremely creepy, and I wouldn't let a child share any sort of space with her.
I personally don't think there's anything wrong with having an attachment to certain items or a collection (to a certain extent). However, when it comes to the people we've seen before that were obsessed, even the ones who were apparently sexual with whatever items, they were never adamant about how they weren't pedos or used mental illness or grief as a defense. It may have been mentioned or implied, but it was never a an absolute defense. Her explanation for this zombie kid doll thing crosses a lot of major lines for me, and using actual conditions that have no real correlations or affiliations with her behaviour is pretty damn despicable. I really can't blame Ken for being upset about this one.
Really late reply but I agree with this, being someone who deals with depression I wouldn't want to go out in public with a doll that brings in reactions, I like to gain the least amount of attention and a lot more but even if she has it she didn't have it clearly in this episode.
